摘要: A heat exchanger includes one or more hot medium flow regions and one or more cooling medium flow regions. Hot medium bars border the one or more hot medium flow regions and cooling medium bars border the one or more cooling medium flow regions. At least one cooling medium bar of the cooling medium bars is joined to a pair of partition sheets. The at least one cooling medium bar includes a base, a first leg, and a second leg. The first leg and the second leg each extend from the base. A cavity is provided between the first leg and the second leg. The cavity is in fluid communication with a first cooling medium flow region of the one or more cooling medium flow regions via an opening provided between the first leg and the second leg.

摘要: A heat exchanger has a rectangular-shaped core having a plurality of fluid passages extending in a width direction and air fins interleaved between said fluid passages. The heat exchanger has tanks that define fluid manifolds located at opposite ends of the core and fluidly connected by the plurality of fluid passages between the tanks. The tanks each include an extruded tank section with open ends and end caps that enclose the ends of the extruded tank section. The tanks are assembled and attached to the core such that each of the end caps is located at each of four corners of the rectangular-shaped core.

摘要: A plate fin heat exchanger is configured to receive hot flow from a hot source and cool flow from a cool source. The plate fin heat exchanger includes a plurality of plates arranged in parallel to define a plurality of flow passages therebetween, and a set of closure bars arranged at a first side of the plurality of plates to seal a first set of the flow passages against ingress of the hot flow, thereby directing the hot flow into a second set of the flow passages. Each respective closure bar includes an inner core formed of a first material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion and an outer cladding arranged about the inner core, the outer cladding formed of a second material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion. The first coefficient of thermal expansion is less than the second coefficient of thermal expansion.

摘要: A plate fin heat exchanger includes a plate fin core having a plurality of plates defining a set of hot air passages extending from a hot air inlet region of the plate fin core to a hot air outlet region of the plate fin core and a set of cool air passages extending from a cool air inlet region of the plate fin core to a cool air outlet region of the plate fin core. The plate fin heat exchanger further includes a mounting flange circumscribing the cool air outlet region. At least a portion of the mounting flange has a plurality of heat transfer structures that extend into a flow path of cooling air exiting the cool air outlet region of the plate fin core.

摘要: A soldered cooler block, especially for a charge air cooler/coolant cooler, is constructed in a packet-type manner. Cooling channels for a liquid coolant are arranged in the cooler block in a crossways manner in first layers, and gas channels for a gas which is to be cooled are arranged in a crossways manner in second layers. The cooling channels are respectively formed by two wall areas which are arranged at a distance and by intermediate strips and connection strips that include groove profiles.

摘要: Finned-tube blocks of charge air coolers of stacked construction are provided with end strips forming a tube bottom. Side surfaces of the end strips adjoining the coolant ducts are configured as exterior surfaces of lips projecting in a direction of the corrugated fins, the tips of these lips not touching the corrugated fins. The end strip cross-section, however, uniformly increases toward the side facing away from the corrugated fins. This further development leads to a considerable reduction of thermal induced tension peaks and therefore contributes to lengthening the useful life of charge air coolers provided with such finned-tube blocks.
