    摘要: A safety and arming unit for a fuze of a projectile has a rotor for interruption of a firing chain. The rotor can rotate from a safe position to an armed position. In order to allow the safety and arming unit to be designed to be physically compact and such that it can be assembled easily, it is proposed that it has a first and a second rotor safety device which each engage in the rotor in order to block rotor rotation to the armed position, wherein the first rotor safety device is designed to carry out a release movement by virtue of its inertia during a launch acceleration of the projectile, and the second rotor safety device has a pyrotechnic charge for producing a release movement.

    摘要: This invention provides a protective safe-arm device (10) for use with a delayed output component (17) that can be coupled to an input device (16) and to an output device (14) to interpose a delay between the receipt of an initiation signal from the input device (16) and the issuance of the signal to an output device (14), which may communicate with, or be part of, an explosively-activated target device, e.g., a rocket motor, warhead, etc. The safe-arm device (10) is configured so that before the output device (14) is intended to function, a barrier member (24) resides between the output device (14) and the delayed output component (17) therein. Thus, should the delayed output component (17) function inadvertently, I will fail to initiate the output device (14). However, a signal received from the input device (16) causes the introduction into the housing of an impelling gas which moves the barrier member (24) away from its protective position, thus permitting the delayed output component (17) to initiate the output device (14).

    摘要: An apparatus and method for safing and arming a projectile is disclosed. The apparatus utilizes an out of line rotor configuration where the detonator is mounted in the rotor. In the safe position, the detonator is out of line with an explosive lead. The rotor is locked out of line with two independent locks. One lock is removed at gun launch setback and the second lock is removed at the time of arming, when a preselected environment is detected by electronics and safe separation is assured. The first lock includes a spring and a weight where the weight is biased in a position to prevent the rotor from moving to an in line position. At setback, the g-forces act on the weight to overcome the spring and the weight is removed from the path of the rotor. Once the selected environment is sensed and safe separation is established the electronic input to arming is permitted. A primer is ignited to remove the second lock shear tab and rotate the rotor to the armed position where the detonator is aligned with the explosive lead. A firing circuit can then be employed to ignite the detonator causing propagation of hot gases and particles to the explosive lead which ignites the warhead explosive/propellent of the projectile.

    摘要: A single ordnance fuze comprising electronic means to initiate three separate detonation outputs.The first detonation output being used for round parachute deployment and fuze probe cover release. Simultaneously a mechanical timer is started which delays deployment of a six (6) foot stand-off probe until the parachute has slowed the round almost to its terminal speed.The second detonation is initiated by depression and closure of a switch in the tip of the probe. This detonation initiates deployment a pair of detonators from the round that serve to ignite fuel that is later distributed to a prearranged site by a third explosive charge.An automatic electronic timer of short duration is also initiated by the closure of the probe switch.The third detonation is initiated by the automatic timer.The third detonation initiates a burster charge for fuel dissemination, thus completing all three of the fuze explosive functions.
