摘要: The time and/or date display of a clock radio is settable remotely and automatically by a radio frequency information signal. The time and/or date display is initially set in manufacturing of the clock radio simultaneously to a plurality of clock radio units, and the display may also be adjusted with an adjusting radio frequency signal broadcast to a plurality of clock radio units simultaneously.

摘要: The present invention is made with the aim of performing time correction appropriately, regarding an electronic device that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device. This is achieved by the electronic device (mobile terminal device 2) that corrects its device side time with a time correction information supplied from outside the device, comprising a reception section (wireless reception section 8) that receives the time correction information; and a time correction section (processor 6) that judges whether the information is received during any correction inhibiting periods of the device side time, then either discards the time correction information if it is received during the correction inhibiting periods, or corrects the device side time with the time correction information if it is received other than the correction inhibiting periods. The device further comprises a retention section (memory section 4) that retains the time correction information in order to perform time correction later at the right time. Moreover, computing is performed such that a time span (ΔT, from the instant when the time correction information is received until the instant when the time correction takes place) is added to the supplied time (correction time Tx) in order to obtain the true time (fixed time Ty).

摘要: A wide area paging system is disclosed in which paging messages input to the system in one local area can be broadcast to a receiver in any other local area without necessarily broadcasting the message in all areas. A local area clearinghouse in each area stores resident subscriber data including current location and receiver serial number. This data is used to transfer messages over a data network to the correct clearinghouse. The system uses a TDM data protocol. The data is encoded and transmitted at a very high rate (e.g., 19,000 baud) in short packets (256 bits/13 milliseconds) via stereo FM sidebands. Receivers are assigned to receive sequentially numbered time slots matching a portion of their address. The addresses of intended receivers are included in the data packets. Battery-powered receivers are deactivated between packets and reactivated in accordance with the sequential time slot number scheme to receive an incoming packet. Messages longer than a packet are segmented and transmitted in two or more packets, linked together by data contained in the packets. A watch pager used in the system employs a wristband antenna which electromagnetically couples to the user's body. The watch pager displays time, telephone numbers and icons representing common types of paging messages.

摘要: A broadcast receiving system according to an embodiment of the invention, is equipped with a module for displaying an on-timer setting menu, and a control module for referring to an internal clock which is corrected with reference clock information obtained from the outside and performing power control in accordance with the contents, input from a user via an operation module, on the on-timer setting menu. The control module allows selection of either of utilization and non-utilization of the clock information in the on-timer setting menu. The control module corrects the internal clock using the clock information and allows the power-on time to be set if the clock information is received from the outside and the utilization of the clock information has been selected and to allow the time until power on to be set without correcting the internal clock if the non-utilization of the clock information has been selected.

摘要: A time keeping and display system, device, and method are shown and illustrated including radio signal broadcast of a time of day reference signal. Remote time keeping devices intermittently collect the time of day reference. Each remote device automatically captures a current state of a time keeping counter when capturing the time of day reference. The captured state of the time keeping counter is later compared to the received time of day reference to calculate an update relative to the time of day counter. The calculated update may be a calculated error later applied as an offset to the counter, or may be a sum of the received time of day and an elapsed time, later loaded into the counter. When the remote device has no pending higher priority tasks, a brief fixed execution time procedure modifies the time keeping counter as a function of the calculated update. Because the process of modifying the time keeping counter is brief, no perceivable discontinuity in device operation, i.e., time display updates or response to user interface activity, occurs while the processing element of the device is dedicated entirely, i.e., interrupts disabled, to the task of modifying the content of the time keeping counter.

摘要: A method of synchronizing an event system. The method includes receiving a first signal at a primary device, where the first signal includes a time component, and processing the first signal to produce a second signal, where the second signal includes the time component and an instruction. The method also includes wirelessly transmitting the second signal to a repeating device, wirelessly receiving the second signal at the repeating device, and wirelessly transmitting a third signal from the repeating device, where the third signal includes the time component and the instruction. The method further includes wirelessly receiving the third signal at a secondary device and executing an event with the third signal.
