Abstract:
A medical fluid delivery system and apparatus for remote machine updating and control are disclosed. An example medical fluid delivery apparatus includes a processor and a dialysis fluid circuit including at least one dialysis fluid pump. The processor determines a dialysis treatment or a preprogrammed task is not being performed by the least one dialysis fluid pump. After determining a dialysis treatment or a preprogrammed task is not being performed, the processor activates a connectivity agent to communicatively couple to a server via a network. The processor then receives, from the server via the connectivity agent, a command message to perform a preprogrammed task. The processor next deactivates the connectivity agent to stop communication with the server and causes the at least one dialysis fluid pump to perform the preprogrammed task.
Abstract:
Adjusting communication channels used by camera to communicate with a base station are described. In one aspect, characteristics of communication channels can be determined and the operation of the camera can be adjusted to use a communication channel based on a comparison of the characteristics of multiple communication channels.
Abstract:
A client device is configured to communicate with an access point over a wireless network, exchanging data with the access point over a selected communication channel. After the wireless connection to the access point has ended, the client device receives a probe from the access point over a low-level layer, such as a data link layer. In response to receiving the probe, the client device reconnects to the access point.
Abstract:
Systems for providing enhanced wireless communications and power at venues are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a first communication device that receives audio from a user (such as a coach on a sideline), generates a wireless signal, and transmits the wireless signal to a second communication device via an antenna system (e.g., an antenna system mounted on an overhead camera) that relays the signal. The second communication device (which could be worn by a player during a sporting event) receives the wireless signal and plays the audio. In another embodiment, the wireless signal is broadcast to a plurality of communications devices worn by players. Also provided is a power and communication system for use at a seat at the venue, which provides power for a user's mobile device as well as wired and wireless network (e.g., Internet) connectivity at the seat.
Abstract:
A dynamic transaction card that includes a transaction card having a number of layers, each of which may be interconnected to one another. For example, a dynamic transaction card may include an outer layer, a potting layer, a sensor layer that may detect and identify a card free fall and/or subsequent impact, which may trigger a microcontroller to send a mobile notification to a cardholder notifying the user that the card has been dropped, and/or may disable or deactivate the card and/or a user account associated with the card, a display layer (including, for example, LEDs, a dot matrix display, and the like), a microcontroller storing firmware, Java applets, Java applet integration, and the like, an EMV™ chip, an energy storage component, one or more antenna (e.g., Bluetooth™ antenna, NFC antenna, and the like), a power management component, a flexible printed circuit board (PCB), a chassis, and/or a card backing layer.
Abstract:
A shock and water resistant wireless pager enclosure, and a tamper-proof lockable enclosure system. The enclosure comprises a bottom container, which supports a transparent film, secured by a cover hinged to the bottom container. The enclosure system comprises an enclosure cover provided with securing members which lockingly engage the bottom container. A lock release tool comprises latching means for engagement with the securing members, and a cam and cam followers which operate on the latching means to pull the securing members outwards to release the locked engagement.
Abstract:
A wireless alarm system has at least one radio controllable alarm unit for identifying and indicating a danger and at least one radio remote control device for releasing an alarm. The radio controllable alarm unit is arranged stationary in a freely selectable position inside a building and/or a community and/or a street and/or a landscape.
Abstract:
A vehicle messaging method (600) and system (100) can include any number of data sources (101-103), an interface (104) that formats messages and addresses from the data sources, and a corresponding number of messaging servers (111-113) that receive targeted messages intended for a predetermined subset of subscribers associated with a vehicle identification number (VIN). Each messaging server can include a corresponding controller (121-123) programmed to assign (604) targeted messages to a predetermined channel and encode (606) the addresses of the targeted messages to the predetermined subset of subscribers using a VIN or portion thereof. The controller can be further programmed to transfer (608) the targeted messages and addresses to a satellite uplink (107) and satellite (110) via a messaging uplink interface (106) for retransmission and reception by a plurality of selective call receivers 109 addressable individually using a predetermined VIN or portion thereof.
Abstract:
A portable, wireless, bi-directional communication system for transmitting visual information about plays and instant messaging between a coach and players during a game comprises a notebook or palm sized computer device with transmitter and receiver, and a wrist sweat band viewing screen with transmitted and receiver, thereby creating an effective, continual flow of information uninterrupted by the difficulty in hearing over a noisy crowd.
Abstract:
An emergency hailing device for use by elderly, physically challenged, addicted and medically at-risk users, particularly when living alone. The device periodically interrogates the at-risk user and in absence of a prompt response to the automatic interrogation signal cue, the at-risk user is presumed to need help and an emergency service or prearranged care-provider is automatically beckoned. The device may be worn or set near the at-risk user, available for immediate manual acknowledgment after the interrogation cue signal occurs. Failure to return a prompt response within a presettable time or response absence indicates that a problematic situation may exist and an emergency signal is activated assuring the at-risk user that help will be promptly hailed even if physical or mental incapacitation occurs. Emergency signal may include a bell or siren, a flashing-light to attract neighbors, or a predetermined telephone may be auto-dialed to hail a prearranged care-provider.
