In order to make it possible for an operator of a machine tool to easily calculate machining conditions and prevent calculation errors and input errors by the operator, this control device for a machine tool, which machines a work piece on the basis of a machining program, is provided with: a database that stores calculation formulas corresponding to types of calculation, and types of parameters required to execute said calculation formulas; an input unit that selects a type of calculation; and a display unit that displays, on the basis of the type of calculation selected by the input unit, the parameter to be input.
Abstract:
A personalization system for vehicles uses a CD player and a keyless entry transmitter. The CD player outputs audible prompting signals including accessory operation choices. The driver selects accessory operation by pressing the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" switch on the keyless entry key fob following an associated audio prompting signal. A controller coupled to the CD player receives a selection signal from the keyless entry key fob and associates the receipt of the selection signal with an index corresponding to the audio prompting signal last output by the CD player. The controller controls accessory operation according to the accessory options selected responsive to the audible prompting signal.

Abstract:
In a method for configuration of a device-specific program system, adjusting values that require different loading operations are input during an input phase. The first adjusting value is then transmitted to the device-specific program system. The device-specific program system carries out a loading operation required for the processing of the first adjusting value. The second adjusting value is transmitted to the device-specific program system and a corresponding load operation is carried out. With the method, a user is allowed to input the second adjusting value already before the first loading operation is completed.

A food slicer for slicing and weighing food items includes a slicer body and a slicer knife mounted for rotation relative to the slicer body. The slicer knife includes a peripheral cutting edge. A food product carriage is mounted to the slicer body for reciprocating movement back and forth past a cutting zone of the slicer knife. A portion scale is mounted on the slicer body and includes a weigh platter on a slice exit side of the slicer knife. A controller of the food slicer is configured for automated operations and/or monitoring and alerting based upon slicer conditions.
