    摘要: A support system for a laser beam machine is provided which includes an inferred value production unit which produces an inferred value for each of a plurality of processing condition parameters indicative of conditions under which laser processing is performed, by use of an artificial intelligence function, and a display unit which displays the inferred value produced by the inferred value production unit. The support system further includes an input unit which allows an operator to enter a plurality of evaluation parameters that represent results of evaluation on a current processing state. The inferred value production unit includes a processing condition parameter selecting portion for selecting one of the processing condition parameters which is most effective to modify the current processing state, according to the evaluation parameters entered through the input unit, and an inferred value calculating portion for calculating the inferred value based on the output of the processing condition parameter selecting portion, and the evaluation parameters entered through the input unit.

    摘要: A system for gathering and transmitting detailed inserter machine data to one or more clients. The inserter controller gathers substantially all significant machine data from machine sensors and control routines data relating to the operation of the machine and the processing of mail pieces. The gathered data is stored in a compressed format in journal format. A data pump processes the compressed journal data, extracting those parts that are of interest, and transmitting them to client applications in a format that is easily interpreted. The data pump processing includes selecting a subset of data from the journal that is of interest to the particular client.

    摘要: A machine tool includes a spindle having a cutting tool for cutting a workpiece. For fault detection, a control unit of the machine tool detects a value representing a torque applied on the spindle while the spindle is stopped in a state the cutting tool is engaged with the workpiece. The control unit further compares the detected value (representing a torque) with a predetermined threshold thereby to determine that a fault has occurs. Since the detection of the value representing a torque is performed while the spindle is stopped, the detection is free from the effects of acceleration or deceleration of the spindle.
