    摘要: A balanced pressure regulator includes a valve body having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet connected by a fluid passageway. A valve seat is disposed within the fluid passageway. A self-aligning valve plug is at least partially disposed within the fluid passageway, the self-aligning valve plug interacting with the valve seat to selectively open or close the fluid passageway. A retainer is partially disposed within a bore of the self-aligning valve plug and operatively connects the self-aligning valve plug to a valve stem having a ball portion. More specifically, the retainer includes a recess adapted to receive the ball portion of the valve stem, such that the self-aligning valve plug automatically rotates around the ball portion of the valve stem to achieve alignment and sealing engagement between a valve disc of the self-aligning valve plug and the valve seat.

    摘要: A balanced port control assembly includes a control element with a valve plug coupled to a valve stem and a pressure sensing labyrinth defined at least partly by the valve plug. The pressure sensing labyrinth provides for fluid communication between a sealing surface of the valve plug and a balancing diaphragm carried internally of the control element. The pressure sensing labyrinth includes at least one pressure sensing passage extending from the sealing surface and into the valve plug along a central longitudinal axis of the control element. So configured, fluid pressure resident on the sealing surface of the valve plug is also resident on the balancing diaphragm such that equal and opposite forces are applied to the control element.

Downstream pressure feedback is provided to the actuator and the secondary device via a Pitot tube disposed within an outlet of the regulator valve. The Pitot tube has a first branch having an end connected to the actuator to place the actuator control cavity and diaphragm in fluid communication with downstream pressure within the outlet for maintaining the outlet pressure at an actuator setpoint pressure. The Pitot tube also has a second branch having an end connected to the secondary device to place the interior of the secondary device in fluid communication with downstream pressure within the outlet for responding to changes in the downstream pressure when the outlet pressure diverges from a predetermined normal operating pressure range.

    摘要: There is disclosed a gas pressure regulator having valving means comprising an orifice sleeve slidably mounted in a bushing which is located in an aperture in a dividing wall in the regulator casing located between the inlet and outlet means of the regulator, for movement toward and from a stationary upstream valve seat carried by the bushing to regulate the flow of fuel gas from the inlet through the regulator to the outlet thereof. To monitor the flow of gas through the meter the bushing has a valve seat adapted to be engaged by a valve operated by a valve stem to control the pressure of the gas at the outlet of the regulator and to shut off the flow of gas into the diaphragm chamber when the pressure of the gas exceeds a predetermined value and the regulating valve for some cause fails to stop the flow of gas. The bushing with the pressure regulating valve seat thereon and the orifice sleeve may be conveniently inserted into the passage in the dividing wall in the regulator as a unit, the bushing being slidable into the passage through the dividing wall between the inlet and outlet means of the valve housing and may be secured thereto by a single screw threaded into a portion of the valve housing. The valve stem makes abutting engagement with the orifice sleeve and thus avoids the necessity of securing the valve stem to the orifice sleeve when assembling the regulator. The downstream end of the bushing is provided with a segmental lip which acts as a loading ring to produce boost in the regulator. The circumference of the portion of the sleeve engaging an obturating ring carried by the bushing and of an upstream orifice of the orifice sleeve are substantially equal and provision is made so that the pressure of the gas opposing the downstream movement of the orifice sleeve is the same as that opposing the upstream movement of the orifice sleeve so that the orifice sleeve is balanced and the pressure of the gas in the usual piping between the regulator and the connected gas appliances is substantially uniform regardless of variations in the rate of flow of the gas within practical limits.
