Abstract:
A barcode reading device including a camera which is used to capture a barcode, an optical aiming device which emits an aim in an imaging direction of the camera, and a processor which executes processing including imaging control processing of controlling the camera to successively perform first image capturing that is performed with the aim being emitted by the optical aiming device and second image capturing that is performed without the aim being emitted, and reading processing of reading the barcode from a second captured image acquired by the second image capturing with reference to positional information of the aim in a first captured image acquired by the first image capturing.
Abstract:
This invention provides a system and method for enabling control of an illuminator having predetermined operating parameters by a vision system processor/core based upon stored information regarding parameters that are integrated with the illuminator. The parameters are retrieved by the processor, and are used to control the operation of the illuminator and/or the camera during image acquisition. In an embodiment, the stored parameters are a discrete numerical or other value that corresponds to the illuminator type. The discrete value maps to a corresponding value in look-up table/database associated with the camera that contains parameter sets associated with each of a plurality of values in the database. The data associated with the discrete value in the camera contains the necessary parameters or settings for that illuminator type. In other embodiments, some or all of the actual parameter information can be stored with the illuminator and retrieved by the camera processor.
Abstract:
A method for providing operation data to a fluid processing medical apparatus and a medical accessory have been provided. The method comprises the steps of providing the medical apparatus (10) with a readable element (12); acquiring configuration data associated to the readable element (12) of the medical apparatus (10) by relatively approaching a data acquisition unit (22) of a medical accessory (20) and the readable element (12) of the medical apparatus (10); establishing a wireless communication between medical accessory (20) and the medical apparatus (10) based on the configuration data; providing a medical component (40) having a readable element (42); acquiring operation data associated to the readable element (42) of the medical component (40) by relatively approaching the data acquisition unit (22) of the medical accessory (20) and the readable element (42) of the medical component (40), the medical component (40) being destined to be operatively coupled to the medical apparatus (10); and providing the operation data to the medical apparatus (10) using the wireless communication.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a measurement machine for measuring an object, and more particularly to a measurement machine such as a portable articulated arm coordinate measuring machine or a laser tracker that measures an object according to a measurement or inspection plan that is identified by a machine readable information symbol located on the object to be measured or on a drawing (e.g., a CAD drawing) of the object.
Abstract:
There is described an indicia reading terminal that can be operative to capture a succession of frames of image data and that can be operative so that a certain frame of the succession of frames is subject to quality evaluation processing where a result of the quality evaluation processing is responsive to one or more of an incidence and sharpness of edge representations of the frame of image data.
Abstract:
A method for embedding information in an image includes defining a code corresponding to a unit of content where the code includes at least one character. The method includes defining a cryptographic representation for each character of the at least one character in the code. Each cryptographic representation includes a group of regularly spaced mark locations and each mark location has a mark selected from a normative mark or a native mark. A pattern of marks in the group of regularly spaced mark locations is unique to each character of the at least one character in the code. The method includes embedding the cryptographic representation for each character of the at least one character of the code into at least a portion of an image. A distance between mark locations in the image indicates an orientation of the image.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for transmitting an application download to a recipient. The sender defines parameters for transferring the application download. Parameters are encoded in an identifier that may be decoded by the recipient's client device or that may be imaged and sent to a server providing the application download service. The recipient scans or captures an image of the displayed encoded identifier using a client device.
Abstract:
A code recognition method for adjusting a User Interface (UI) rotation angle of a code recognition application depending on the direction of a recognition code or text entered through a camera is provided. The code recognition method includes detecting at least a portion of the recognition code from an image including the recognition code; determining a code rotation angle of the recognition code; and extracting the recognition code or a text from the image including the recognition code based on the code rotation angle of the recognition code.
Abstract:
A modular focus system for image based code readers includes swappable lens attachments enables fixed focus, manual focus, and variable focus operation from a single reader. A manual focus lens cap includes a manually adjustable focus ring to change the focus of the reader. A variable focus lens module includes a liquid lens that is manipulated by a voltage delivered via a pair of electrodes to adjust the focus of the reader. The lens attachments can be swapped out and replaced as needed.
Abstract:
A system and method for transferring content among multiple devices are disclosed. Herein, the system for transferring content may include a coupling controller configured to identify a user equipment in accordance with a content transfer request and to perform coupling with the identified user equipment, and a content transfer unit configured to transmit content to the user equipment or to receive content from the user equipment, when coupling is completed.
