摘要： An electronic device has a housing and a rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The housing has an aperture and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism has a shaft positioned at least partially within the aperture and a manipulation structure coupled to the shaft. The manipulation structure may be manipulated to rotationally and translationally move the shaft to provide rotational and translational input to the electronic device. A compressible seal is positioned in a gap between the housing and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The compressible seal may resist and/or prevent passage of contaminants into the aperture and/or obscure one or more internal components. The compressible seal may be configured to collapse or bend when the rotatable and translatable member translates.

摘要： A self-centering switch is provided with a rocker bar pivotally mounted to move between a neutral and an actuated position. A contact element having a pair of contact bearing resilient arms is mounted at the pivot axis of the rocker bar. The resilient arms are biased against the rocker bar and act to return the bar to its neutral position. The contact element may be connected to a control circuit formed on a circuit board and having one or more fixed contacts alternately engageable by the contacts on the resilient arms.

摘要： An electrical switch suitable for a miniature apparatus such as a wristwatch comprises a resilient contact plate which is mounted on a member capable of rotating about an axis. The contact plate has two arms which extend radially from a rigid or mounted central portion. The outer ends of the arms are supported on a contact member, the arms being elastically deformed by the action of the contact forces. The two arms have different lengths and they are weakened in a different manner by apertures at their mounting location. Consequently, it is possible to achieve ideal compensation for the couples produced by the contact forces. In addition, an ideal deformation of the arms of the contact plate is obtained, as well as a well-defined position for the bearing points of the contacts.

摘要： A switch having planar contacts and a rotary brush engageable with the contacts to perform a switching function has printed circuit board mounting lugs integral with planar contact circuitry. The lugs allow mounting of the switch to the edge of the printed circuit board and is of miniature size suitable for use with a watch stem of an electronic wristwatch. Tactile feel and positive detent of the switch rotor is provided with a resilient beam which detents against the irregular surface of a cam provided on the rotor. The cam has an offset finger that resiliently deflects a return spring which returns the switch rotor to an off position providing only a momentary switching function when the rotor is manually rotated and then released. The switch parts are designed for stackable assembly without a need for fasteners. The switching function, in this instance, is associated with resetting of the hour and minute time display.

摘要： A combination of a hand-held timer, including an actuator for initiating operation of the timer, and a switch which is closed on operation of the actuator. The switch is connected by means of a metallic pawl through a flexible conductor, to a remote electrically operated device and acts to control operation of the remote device upon operation of the timer. In a modified form of the invention, an annular insulative element with a conductive layer electrically connected to the timing device is rigidly fixed to the exterior of the stopwatch casing. Upon depression of a metallic plunger, an electrical circuit is completed and consequently a time interval is measured.
