    摘要: Embodiments include waveguide launchers and connectors (WLCs), and a method of forming a WLC. The WLC has a waveguide connector with a waveguide launcher, a taper, and a slot-line signal converter; and a balun structure on the slot-line signal converter, where the taper is on the slot-line signal converter and a terminal end of the waveguide connector to form a channel and a tapered slot. The WLC may have the waveguide connector disposed on the package, and a waveguide coupled to waveguide connector. The WLC may include assembly pads and external walls of the waveguide connector electrically coupled to package. The WLC may have the balun structure convert a signal to a slot-line signal, and the waveguide launcher converts the slot-line signal to a closed waveguide mode signal, and emits the closed signal along channel and propagates the closed signal along taper slot to the waveguide coupled to waveguide connector.

    摘要: High frequency power amplification modules comprise a dielectric substrate supporting a stepped impedance transition coupled to the input of a power amplifier and a symmetrically disposed stepped impedance transition connected to the output of the power amplifier. The power amplification modules are oriented in an electromagnetic energy field so that input electromagnetic energy is coupled to the input of the power amplifier by the input side stepped impedance transition, amplified by the amplifier, and emitted from the module by the output side stepped impedance transition. A plurality of the power amplification modules may be organized into an array to provide a power combiner. The power amplification modules in the array may be linked by isolation impedances that decouple the modules in the array.

    摘要: The present invention uses two interconnected baluns with the balanced output of one feeding a balanced input of the other. When this filter is used in conjunction with a signal frequency converter, the balun pair not only provides extremely effective bandpass filtering so as to pass the RF frequencies and not the IF frequencies but, in addition, provides a condition which appears to the IF as a nearly open circuit and thus provides a large amount of reflection or return of the IF signals to the signal converter so that the overall signal converter operation is more efficient in combination with the present invention than with any comparable known prior art signal isolating device.
