摘要: A leakage current detection and interruption (LCDI) device, for use as a safety device for a cable connecting, a power source with a load. The LCDI having a safety circuit that senses the presence of an arcing condition between one of the conducting lines and a metal sheath, and in response thereto, opens at least one of the conducting lines between the power supply and the load. The structure of the LCDI circuit card assembly incorporates a load input cavity having fire retardant materials surrounding the load input terminals, and further includes a contact actuator which encases the switch or contact arm at the source input section of the LCDI.

摘要: A charging device installed in a motor vehicle is connected via a connection device to an AC mains. The connection device includes a residual current circuit breaker incapable of detecting at least one residual current type, in particular a DC residual current. A communication signal is transmitted between a control unit on the side of the charging device and a control unit on the side of the connection device. A residual current detector in the charging device detects a residual current of the undetected residual current type and transmits a residual current signal indicating the residual current to the charging-device-side control unit, which then modifies and/or interrupts the communication signal based the residual current signal so as to cause the charging device to be disconnected from the AC mains.

摘要: A circuit interrupter, such as a GFCI or AFCI product, is provided having a suppression and protection circuit and circuit interrupter circuitry. In one configuration, a semiconductor device and a voltage clamping device or surge protector, such as a metal oxide varistor (MOV), are utilized in the circuit interrupter for handling transient surges and overvoltage conditions. The semiconductor device, such as a SIDCA and a TVS diode, is connected to a solenoid or trip coil of the circuit interrupter circuitry to limit the amount of current through the semiconductor device. The MOV is placed between phase and neutral conductors of the circuit interrupter circuitry.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed relating to electrical safety systems that may be useful, for example, in electromagnetic geophysical prospecting. Electromagnetic streamer systems often include a number of electrical loads in series that are powered by a constant-current power supply unit. Known techniques for detecting electrical faults have various drawbacks in such an arrangement. Embodiments of this disclosure may be used to mitigate some or all of such drawbacks.
