    摘要: An externally excited electric synchronous machine may include a machine rotor, a machine stator, and a signal transmission device for contactless transmission of an operating signal corresponding to a DC voltage to the machine stator. The machine rotor may include a rotor shaft and a machine rotor coil. The machine rotor coil may be supplied with DC voltage and may provide a magnetic rotor field. The machine stator may include a machine stator coil that is fixed relative to the machine stator. The machine stator coil may provide a magnetic stator field, which may interact with the magnetic rotor field such that the machine rotor rotates. The signal transmission device may include (i) on the machine rotor, a signal coil connected in series with the machine rotor coil and (ii) on the machine stator, a magnetic field sensor that detects a magnetic field provided via the signal coil.

In particular, a dual-winding rotating field machine (200) in which the stator (140) includes two separate windings can be provided. In one example implementation, the stator (140) can include an excitation winding (220) configured to control an excitation current and a power winding (230) configured to control power flow to an electrical system. The dual-winding rotating field machine (200) can further include a starting mode and a generating mode. During the starting mode, both the excitation winding (220) and the power winding (230) can be coupled to one or more switching power converters (170). During the generating mode, the power winding (230) can be coupled to a variable frequency bus and the power converter (170) can be used to manage excitation power only.

    摘要: A generator rotor assembly can include a diode holder configured to hold one or more diodes. The diode holder can be formed of a first material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). The assembly can include a rotor housing configured to hold the diode holder within the rotor housing. The rotor housing can be formed of a second material having a second CTE. The second CTE is different than the first CTE. The assembly can include one or more CTE compensation spacers interfacing the diode holder to the rotor housing such that the diode holder and the rotor housing are connected via the one or more CTE compensation spacers. The one or more CTE compensation spacers can be configured to have a third CTE different than the first CTE and the second CTE to compensate for relative length change between the diode holder and the rotor housing to prevent and/or reduce temperature induced stress growth at the interface of the diode holder and the rotor housing.

    摘要: An assembly that can enhance the power factor of synchronous reluctance (SynRel) machines. The assembly can include one or more pickup coils that are at least proximally adjacent to an outer periphery of a rotor that are structured to harvest energy in an air gap between the rotor and a stator. The harvested energy can be supplied to a rectifier that is electrically coupled to the pickup coils, and which can convert the harvested energy into DC excitation current. The DC excitation current can be provided to one or more DC field windings that extend through the rotor, such as, for example, through flux barriers in the rotor. The flow of the DC excitation current through the DC field windings can generate a flux that can be put in a rotor axis to enhance the power factor and torque rating of the SynRel machine.
