Abstract: An image sensor includes a pixel array including a plurality of normal pixels, a plurality of phase detection groups, and a color filter array. Each phase detection group includes a first phase detection pixel and a second phase detection pixel disposed adjacent to the first phase detection pixel. The color filter array includes a plurality of unit groups. Each unit group includes a plurality of color filters of a same color arranged in an M×N matrix on the pixel array, wherein M and N are natural numbers. A first color filter among the color filters of a first color is disposed on the first phase detection pixel of one of the unit groups and a second color filter among the color filters of a second color different from the first color is disposed on the second phase detection pixel of another one of the unit groups.

Abstract: Provided is an image sensor circuit, including a pixel array and a plurality of different control circuits. The pixel array comprises a plurality of pixel circuit groups arranged in an array. Each pixel circuit group comprises a plurality of pixel circuits that generate corresponding sensitivity values over exposure duration. The pixel circuits include a first quantity of first pixel circuits, and a second quantity of second pixel circuits. The plurality of different control circuits are respectively coupled to different pixel circuits to control the exposure duration thereof with different transmission signals. The different control circuits are also set to control different pixel circuits to output photo-sensed values at different frame rates. The image sensor circuit periodically generates the pixel value of each pixel circuit group according to first and second exposure durations, first and second frame rates, and first and second light sensitivity values of each pixel circuit group.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes circuitry that estimates a first geometric transformation parameter aligning first output image data with the original image data, the first output image data being acquired by reading a first output result, and a second geometric transformation parameter aligning second output image data with the original image data, the second output image data being acquired by reading a second output result. The circuitry associates, based on the first and second geometric transformation parameters, combinations of color components of the first and second output image data, corresponding to pixels of the original image data, to generate pixel value association data, and determines, based on the pixel value association data, a mapping for estimating color drift between the first output image data and the second output image data from the original image data. The original image data is subjected to color conversion based on the mapping.

Abstract: In an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), RAW sensor image processing for a machine vision (MV) application is important. Due to different color, e.g., red/green/blue (RGB), color components, being focused by the lens at different locations in image plane, the lateral chromatic aberration phenomenon may sometimes be observed, which causes false color around edges in the final image output, especially for high contrast edges, which can impede MV applications. Disclosed herein are low-latency, efficient, optimized designs for chromatic aberration correction (CAC) components. An in-pipeline CAC design may be used to perform on-the-fly CAC without any out-of-pipeline memory traffic; enable use of wide dynamic range (WDR) sensors; uses bicubic interpolation; support vertical and horizontal chromatic aberration color channel offsets, reduce CAC line memory requirements, and support flexible look-up table (LUT) down-sampling factors to improve the spatial precision of correction and accommodate popular image sensor resolutions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an image sensing device, including: an image sensing array, a conversion unit, and a processing circuit. The image sensing array is used to generate sensing signals of different periods. The conversion unit is used to convert the sensing signals from analog to digital. The processing circuit is used to generate a frame during an image capturing operation. The image sensing array includes a plurality of sensing sub-pixels, and the sensing sub-pixels have a sensing circuit and a storage circuit. The sensing circuit generates the sensing signals and sequentially stores the sensing signal in the storage circuit. The storage circuit sequentially outputs the sensing signals to the conversion unit.

Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus comprising an acquisition unit which acquires information representing optical compression ratios in a horizontal direction and in a vertical direction at a time of image capturing by an image capturing unit; a transform unit which wavelet transforms the image data to generate a plurality of sub-band data; a determination unit which determines quantization parameters for transform coefficients in a plurality of sub-bands obtained by the transform unit; and an encoding unit which quantizes the transform coefficients in the sub-band data obtained by the transform unit in accordance with the quantization parameters determined by the determination unit and to encode the quantized transform coefficients, wherein the determination unit performs weighting for each sub-band based on the information representing the compression ratios acquired by the acquisition unit to determine the quantization parameters.

Abstract: A method of de-mosaicing pixel data from an image processor includes generating a pixel block that includes a plurality of image pixels. The method also includes determining a first image gradient between a first set of pixels of the pixel block and a second image gradient between a second set of pixels of the pixel block. The method also includes determining a first adaptive threshold value based on intensity of a third set of pixels of the pixel block. The pixels of the third set of pixels are adjacent to one another. The method also includes filtering the pixel block in a vertical, horizontal, or neutral direction based on the first and second image gradients and the first adaptive threshold value utilizing a plurality of FIR filters to generate a plurality of component images.
