    Abstract: An image sensor includes a pixel array including a plurality of normal pixels, a plurality of phase detection groups, and a color filter array. Each phase detection group includes a first phase detection pixel and a second phase detection pixel disposed adjacent to the first phase detection pixel. The color filter array includes a plurality of unit groups. Each unit group includes a plurality of color filters of a same color arranged in an M×N matrix on the pixel array, wherein M and N are natural numbers. A first color filter among the color filters of a first color is disposed on the first phase detection pixel of one of the unit groups and a second color filter among the color filters of a second color different from the first color is disposed on the second phase detection pixel of another one of the unit groups.

    Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes circuitry that estimates a first geometric transformation parameter aligning first output image data with the original image data, the first output image data being acquired by reading a first output result, and a second geometric transformation parameter aligning second output image data with the original image data, the second output image data being acquired by reading a second output result. The circuitry associates, based on the first and second geometric transformation parameters, combinations of color components of the first and second output image data, corresponding to pixels of the original image data, to generate pixel value association data, and determines, based on the pixel value association data, a mapping for estimating color drift between the first output image data and the second output image data from the original image data. The original image data is subjected to color conversion based on the mapping.

    Abstract: In an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), RAW sensor image processing for a machine vision (MV) application is important. Due to different color, e.g., red/green/blue (RGB), color components, being focused by the lens at different locations in image plane, the lateral chromatic aberration phenomenon may sometimes be observed, which causes false color around edges in the final image output, especially for high contrast edges, which can impede MV applications. Disclosed herein are low-latency, efficient, optimized designs for chromatic aberration correction (CAC) components. An in-pipeline CAC design may be used to perform on-the-fly CAC without any out-of-pipeline memory traffic; enable use of wide dynamic range (WDR) sensors; uses bicubic interpolation; support vertical and horizontal chromatic aberration color channel offsets, reduce CAC line memory requirements, and support flexible look-up table (LUT) down-sampling factors to improve the spatial precision of correction and accommodate popular image sensor resolutions.

The image signal processor includes a stripe pattern determiner configured to calculate a gradient index for each of a plurality of directions in a target kernel and determine whether the target kernel corresponds to a stripe pattern based on the gradient index for each of the plurality of directions, a pattern direction determiner configured to determine a pattern direction of the target kernel when the target kernel corresponds to the stripe pattern, and a demosaicing component configured to perform an interpolation operation based on the pattern direction of the target kernel.
