    摘要: A time and charges information delivery arrangement is disclosed utilizing an intelligent telecommunications station (intelligent phone) for displaying that information after a termination of a call. The intelligent phone is equipped to handle CCITT (International Consultative Committee for Telephone and Telegraph) standard Layer 3 (Q.931) call control messages defined for message associated user-to-user information (MA-UUI), and is connected to a central telephone office switching system via an integrated services digital network (ISDN) basic rate interface (BRI). After an operator assistance call is terminated, the operator assistance system that processed the call sends a Q.931 SETUP message to the intelligent phone over an ISDN signaling channel (D-channel). The message includes a data block, comprising time and charges information. When the intelligent phone receives the message, it ignores the call setup request, and simply displays the information sent in the message. Thus, without any action by an operator, a public telephone customer receives time and charges information for the terminated call, without establishing a new call (B-channel call) between the operator assistance system and the intelligent phone.

    摘要: Network terminating terminal apparatus, for use in an Integrated Services Digital Network, comprises a U-interface and a S/T interface. The U-interface allows the integrated terminal apparatus to communicate with a central office directly, without a separate network terminator. Remote terminals may be connected to the network terminating terminal apparatus, via its S/T interface. The network terminating terminal apparatus then serves as a conventional network terminator. The network terminating terminal apparatus includes circuitry for controlling D-channel access by the integrated terminal apparatus. The circuitry detects the framing of the signal received at the U-interface and the D-channel information from the remote terminals and ensures that the D-channel data from the integrated terminal apparatus is supplied to the S/T interface at the appropriate time for insertion into the D-echo channel of the signal returned to the remote terminals. In addition, the D-channel data from the integrated terminal apparatus is supplied to the U interface, with the D-channel from remote terminals, for transmission in D-channel of the signal to the central office.

    摘要: The invention provides a bus line traffic control adapter apparatus which can secure a communications throughput of a data terminal which is already in a communicating condition even where there is a limitation in transfer capacity on a bus line. A first packet controller extracts throughput information in call user data in a call request packet. A traffic controller subtracts a current throughput value read out from a total throughput control section from allowable throughput information on a bus line, compares a value obtained by the subtraction with the throughput information notified from the first packet controller, and permits or rejects origination of a call in accordance with a result of the comparison. When a notification of rejection of origination of a call is received, the first packet controller cancels the received call request packet then and notifies a clear indication packet to the data terminal by way of a second ISDN control section.

    摘要: A method for activating tandem digital subscriber lines separated by a carrier system in a communication link connecting a switch and a network termination is implemented by a microcontroller which interfaces with a digital subscriber line transceiver to extract and transmit activation request information and a programmable gate array to relay and interpret activation information conveyed across the carrier system. The microcontroller intelligently combines the activation information received from the carrier system, the activation indicator bit received from the digital subscriber line transceiver, and the transceiver status to independently activate the digital subscriber lines in a controlled sequence, so that a proper response is conveyed to the T-interface to preclude premature regarding of the physical transmission channel as being transparent. This is achieved by not setting the downstream activation bit to the network termination to 1 until each upstream digital subscriber line is fully activated in both directions.

    摘要: An ISDN network termination unit for connecting a user's bus line connected to a plurality of terminal equipments and a subscriber line extending from an exchanging office receives and transmits a D channel signal from one of the exchanging office and each terminal equipment to the other to thereby establish a data link between them on the D channel. The D channel signal is provided with an identifier code field. In order to establish a data link between the terminal equipments on the D channel without use of the subscriber line and the exchanging office, the ISDN network termination unit is provided with an identifier code holder for holding a predetermined identifier code and a deciding circuit for deciding whether or not the identifier code in the D channel signal from a specific one of the terminal equipment is equal to the predetermined identifier code. When both are equal to each other, the D channel signal is returned by a returning circuit to the terminal equipments through the user's line to thereby establish the data link between the specific terminal equipment and the other terminal equipments through the network termination unit. It may be made that a start flag and a stop flag are additionally detected so as to control the returning circuit.
