摘要： The invention relates to an assembly of a capped high-pressure discharge lamp (1) and a lamp holder (50). The discharge lamp comprises an outer envelope (10) in which a discharge vessel (11) is arranged. The outer envelope has a pinched portion (20) provided with a clamping member (25). A lamp cap comprises a substantially circular-cylindrical cup shaped portion for receiving the clamping member and is provided with a protruding collar (36). The lamp holder (50) comprises a substantially circular-cylindrical flange (55) for receiving the cup-shaped portion such that the flange engages the protruding collar. An inner diameter of the flange (55) has a tolerance of less than or equal to −0.2 mm. An outer diameter of the cup-shaped portion (33) has a tolerance of less than or equal to +0.2 mm. The respective tolerances extend over a length of at least 2.5 mm, measured with respect to the protruding collar.

摘要： Luminous units of this kind have light members in the form of incandescent lamps, whose contacts are connected electrically conductive with an electrical connector via an intermediate or contact plate. The contact plate must be fastened separately, owing to which manufacture and assembly are complicated and costly. In order to avoid this, the luminous unit has a light member holder, which is connected with the light member and has a coupling piece for the electrical connector. The coupling connection permits a simple and reliable electrical connection between the light member and the electrical connector. The contacts of the light member have contact pins, which are lengthened by lengthening pins. These allow the contact pins to be directly connected with the electrical connector.

The bulb-side plus terminal portion and the feeder-side plus terminal portion are disposed in a juxtaposed condition within the socket hosing. The minus terminal is mounted in the socket housing, and includes a bulb-side minus terminal portion for electrically connecting with the minus electrode of the bulb and a feeder-side minus terminal portion for electrically connecting with an external minus terminal. The bulb-side minus terminal portion and the feeder-side minus terminal portion are disposed in a juxtaposed condition within the socket hosing.

摘要： A lamp socket assembly including a housing, a contact insert, and a body. The contact insert is captured in a cavity of the housing by the body. The body is welded to the housing. Lugs on the body secure the assembly to a panel. Contacts are retained in the contact insert by engagement of U-shaped portions thereof in slots of the contact insert. Blade terminals are inserted through the contacts and contact insert to interlock the terminals with the contacts and contact insert. The blade terminals include a U-shaped portion whereby the interlocking end of the terminals define one leg of the U-shaped portion. A second end of the blade terminal extends at right angles to the interlocking end of the blade terminal and extends axially away from the body whereby a socket connector may be axially connected to the housing. The socket connector includes locking fingers for securing the socket connector to the housing. The locking fingers include lead-in portions to guide the locking fingers toward projections on the housing which engage the locking fingers.

摘要： A low profile socket assembly is provided for use with a wedge base type lamp bulb that has a reduced number of parts while providing uniform and reliable electrical contact. The socket assembly includes a housing having a socket adapted to receive the lamp bulb base, and a pair of substantially cylindrical barrel terminals. The barrel terminals are uniformly radially inwardly compressible without substantial resistance, and receivable within the housing so as to present a uniform contact surface through the walls of the housing socket regardless of the orientation of the terminals. The terminals are thereby uniformly compressible between the filament contact wires and the inner surfaces of the terminal passages by the opposed sides of the lamp bulb base when the lamp bulb base is received into the socket, thereby making uniform and reliable electrical contact with the lamp bulb.

摘要： A replaceable automobile headlight lamp unit and headlight utilizing same wherein the unit's electric lamp (e.g., tungsten halogen) is securedly retained within a clamp member including an insulative base and a pair of spaced-apart retaining clips for grasping the lamp's press-sealed end portion. The base includes a curvilinear surface which mates with a surface having a similar configuration located within an insulative holder which also forms part of the invention. A pair of spaced contacts located within the holder pass through apertures within the base and are connected (e.g., welded) to the retention clips. A ball-joint arrangement is thus provided to enable facile alignment of the electric lamp relative to the holder prior to final securement between the holder and base components.

摘要： A lamp socket and bulb assembly includes a socket having a generally rectangularly configured bulb opening and first and second side contacts to stabilize a bulb base against multiplanar reference walls in the socket; and wherein the base includes bulb filament contacts, spaced apart parallel reference surfaces and a pressure pad thereon all axially insertable into the socket to make electrical contact between the first and second side contacts and the bulb filament contacts, having a segment that exerts a force on the pressure pad to locate the parallel reference surfaces against one side wall of the socket and a curvilinear segment that engages an outwardly directed tab on the base to stabilize the base within the bulb opening by exerting a pull-in force thereagainst.
