    摘要: A compression bandaging system comprising a) an inner skin facing, elongated, elastic bandage comprising: (i) an elongated, elastic substrate and (ii) an elongated layer of foam, said foam layer being affixed to a face of said substrate and extending 33% or more across said face of substrate in transverse direction and 67% or more across said face of substrate in longitudinal direction; and b) an outer, elongated, self-adhering elastic bandage; said bandage having a compressive force when extended; wherein, in use, said foam layer of the inner bandage faces the skin and the outer bandage overlies the inner bandage.

    摘要: There is provided a soft nonwoven fibrous loop material for use in hook and loop fastening systems. The nonwoven fibrous loop material of the invention contains an open fibrous loop layer comprised predominately of polypropylene polymer, copolymer or blend fibers. The nonwoven fibrous loop layer material is autogeneously bonded to a backing layer formed of polypropylene polymers or copolymers having a percent isotacticity of less than 70%, optionally with additional layers present provided so that the overall nonwoven fibrous loop material is a laminate having a circular bend stiffness of less than about 9 Newton and having tensile strength of at least 1500 g/2.54 cm-width.

    摘要: Low density silicon nitride ceramics having improved bending and specific strengths over known silicon nitride ceramics derived from silicon nitride powder and polysilazane precursors are prepared by (A) intimately mixing about 50-85% by weight of silicon nitride powder with about 15-50% by weight of a preceramic polysilazane binder, (B) pulverizing the mixture to form particles having a particle size smaller than 105 micrometers, (C) separating from those particles any particles having a particle size larger than about 105 micrometers, (D) molding the resultant composition having a particle size not larger than about 105 micrometers, and (E) pyrolyzing the molded composition in an inert atmosphere to a temperature of about 1200.degree.-1450.degree. C.; said preceramic binder being at least one polysilazane prepared by reacting an organodihalosilane with ammonia, treating the ammonolysis product with a basic catalyst which is capable of deprotonating an NH group that is adjacent to an SiH group, and quenching the resultant product with an electrophilic quenching reagent.

    摘要: A filtering face-piece respirator 10 that comprises a mask body 12 and a harness 14 that is joined to the mask body 12. The mask body 12 includes a filter layer 30 and a nonwoven fibrous cover web 16. The fibrous cover web 16 is partially occluded and is generally parallel to and spaced from the filter layer 30 such that air passing through the cover web 16 can move freely between the cover web 16 and the filter layer 30 so that it can enter the filter layer 30 at essentially any available point over the filter layer surface 32. The inventive respirator is beneficial in that it can provide very good splash fluid and airborne contaminant protection while also exhibiting an extraordinary low pressure drop across the mask body during breathing.
