The valve retainer may be fixed to the hub member at an end of the second portion opposite the stepped region and may define a third inner diameter. The valve member may be located between the valve retainer in the stepped region and may have an outer diameter less than the second inner diameter and greater than the first and third inner diameters.

    摘要: An emergency pressure relief valve has a housing fluidly connected to a pressurized system line carrying a system fluid. The housing carries a piston and a valve member which move within the housing between a closed position and an open position. The piston defines an upper chamber and a lower chamber within the housing. A control fluid is supplied to the upper chamber, and the pressure of the control fluid exerts a biasing force to a first side of the piston. The biasing force holds the valve member and piston in a closed position when the pressure of the system fluid is at an acceptable level. As the pressure of the system fluid rises above the acceptable level, the valve member moves to an open position. While the piston moves from the closed position to the open position, a delay fluid is injected into the lower chamber. As the delay fluid is expelled from the chamber, it delays a return of the piston and valve member to the closed position. As the piston and valve member return from the open position to the closed position, the delay fluid in the lower chamber flows to the upper chamber through a check valve carried by the piston.

    摘要: A back pressure regulating valve for ultra high pressures. The valve is designed for use in throttling ultra high pressure pumps, such as those used in fluid jetting systems. The valve has an elongated tapered poppet which fits in an elongated tapered seat such that an elongated, annular tapered flow path is defined therebetween. The flow path preferably has a length greater than a diameter of the poppet, such as approximately ten times the maximum diameter. Also in the preferred embodiment, a minimum annular tapered flow path is defined between the seat and poppet even when the poppet is in an unactuated position. Biasing is provided by a gas filled pressure chamber acting on an actuator piston. The piston at least partially defines a damping chamber, and an orifice is provided between the damping chamber and the pressure chamber so that movement of the piston is damped as it is moved in a direction tending to reduce the volume of the pressure chamber.

    摘要: A check valve or non-return valve has a valve body (9) which is connected with a piston (15) by a rod (14). The piston is guided by a sleeve (17) mounted inside an inner housing of the valve. The sleeve is provided with two radially extending openings (21, 22) which are axially spaced from each other. These openings provide communication between the inner space in the sleeve and the inner space in the inner housing (1) depending on the position of the piston (15). This structure permits a rapid closing of the valve, whereby nevertheless, the pressure shock caused by the rapid movement of the valve body is substantially reduced by these openings causing a pressure build-up inside the sleeve with a respective damping action on the valve body.
