摘要: A glass plate cutting machine 1 includes a cutter wheel 4 for forming a cut line 3 on a glass plate 2; a moving means 5 for moving the cutter wheel 4 along a cut line 3a which has been preset and is to be formed on the glass plate 2; a resiliently pressing device 6 for resiliently pressing the cutter wheel 4 against the glass plate 2; and a control unit 7 for controlling the resiliently pressing device 6 so as to alternately change over the intensity of a resiliently pressing force of that cutter wheel 4 with respect to the glass plate 2 in the movement of the cutter wheel 4 by the moving means 5.

The method for controlling a slitter-scorer apparatus including steps of supplying a paperboard sheet along a feed line, and moving a slitter or a scorer in a vertical and/or a widthwise direction to a operative level where the surface of said paperboard sheet is processed thereby wherein: movement of said slitter and/or scorer is controlled such that said slitter and/or scorer either come into sliding contact with or is apart slightly from said surface of the paperboard sheet.

摘要: A machine for slitting a metal sheet has a number of knife holder assemblies each containing a rotary knife. The knife holder assemblies are mounted for movement along upper and lower rotating shafts which rotate the knives during a slitting operation. The position of the knife holder assemblies is programmably controlled for efficient and accurate positioning and adjustment of the knives along the rotating shafts for a variety of slitting configurations. Additionally, each of the upper and lower drive shafts contains a pair of drive shaft sections that are normally connected together during operation and can be disconnected for servicing of the knife holder assemblies on the shafts. The slitting machine includes upper and lower frames that are movable relative to each other by adjustment of a pair of jack screws to slit metal sheets of differing thicknesses without labor intensive adjustment or reconfiguration of the machine.

摘要: A method, product cracker, and nest are used with a derelict product having a shell covering a core. The shell has opposed front and rear faces and a sidewall having at least one pair of diagonally opposed corner-edges extending transversely between the faces, and is separable along the sidewall into a pair of covers. In the method, the front and rear faces of the product are placed in alignment with a first axis and the pair of diagonally opposed corner-edges are placed in alignment with a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The shell is directly supported near one corner-edge of the pair of diagonally opposed corner-edges and is impacted at the other corner-edge with sufficient force to separate the covers. The alignments are maintained during the impacting. The covers and core are collected and the core is sorted out.

摘要: Apparatus and processes for receiving sheets from a sheet stacker, separating them into bundles, and removing the bundles from the discharge area of the sheet stacking apparatus. The apparatus includes a frame, a rotatable receiving means mounted on the frame, means for separating the bundles of sheets being received, and means for rotating the rotatable receiving means. The receiving means may include a plurality of sheet receiving chambers, each chamber having an elevator which may be lowered in the respective chamber. The apparatus also has means for raising each elevator. The separating means accumulates the sheets being received from the sheet stacker while the receiving means is being rotated.

摘要: In the production of metal cans, a sheet metal body plate (blank) is scored with aligned upper and lower score lines and then formed into a cylindrical single can body. Preferably the scoring is in steps; first, scoring the upper score line using a scoring roller and an anvil wheel; and, secondly, scoring the lower score line using a second scoring roller and a second anvil wheel. Then the single can bodies are conveyed by a conveyor belt and rolled over the knife edge (parting edge) of an elongated parting rail, with the parting edge aligned with the score line and with the conveyor applying pressure on each can body to part each one on the parting edge, thereby forming two can bodies from the single can body.

摘要: Apparatus for separating pendent tail scrap from the bottoms of containers advanced continuously in series by exerting a tensile force between each advancing container and the pendent tail. Each container is advanced with its pendent tail extending through a slot in a conveyor, and counter rotation rollers grip and pull the tail to cause the separation. A method of operation includes advancing a series of containers and progressively gripping the flash of each advancing container from the leading edge to the trailing edge thereof, and pulling the flash simultaneously as the gripping occurs to cause separation of the flash from the leading to the trailing edge thereof by exertion of tensile force applied between the tail and the bottom of the container.
