Abstract:
An elastically deformable energy management assembly includes a first component. Also included is at least one protrusion extending from the first component, the at least one protrusion having an outer surface. Further included is a second component comprising at least one aperture defined by an aperture wall, the aperture wall in slideable engagement with the outer surface of the at least one protrusion, wherein at least one of the protrusion and the aperture wall comprises an elastically deformable material.
Abstract:
A coupling capable of adjustably cantilever-mounting a machine such as a labeling machine to a mounting structure, wherein the attitude or inclination of the machine to other machinery such as a conveyor can be precisely adjusted. Also, there is a method a mounting a machine to mounting structure with the capability to adjust the inclination of the machine that requires only one person.
Abstract:
A pivotal connection mechanism for pivotally connecting a first and a second rod includes a first and a second connection seat respectively having a fitting surface, on which a rotation-limiting member is provided. The two rotation-limiting members are separately non-rotatably engaged with two rotation-limiting slots separately provided on two outer side surfaces of the first and second rods facing away from each other. A pivot shaft is extended through the first connection seat, the first rod, the second rod, and the second connection seat and locked thereto. With the rotation-limiting members non-rotatably engaged with the rotation-limiting slots on the first and second rods, the first and second connection seats are attached to the first and second rods and do not rotate when the pivot shaft is turned to extend into or loosen from the two rods, enabling the two rods to be conveniently connected to or separated from each other.
Abstract:
A hub joint includes a metal rod and pin for joining tubular members in three-dimensional space for assembling a frame structure. The hub joint enables rapid assembly, rapid reconfiguration, and rapid disassembly without using any specialized tools. Multiple hub joints may be used to form geodesic domes, freestanding trusses, space frame slabs, tetrahedrons, and pentahedrons. The hub joints allow different frame configurations that are lightweight, strong, durable, scalable, expandable, and portable.
Abstract:
Provided is a supporting apparatus for a display device. The supporting apparatus includes a stationary unit fixed at a fixing location, a device supporting unit supporting the display device, a connection unit connecting the stationary unit to the device supporting unit and guiding motion of the device supporting unit, and a tilting frictional unit interposed between the connection unit and the device supporting unit and guiding tilting motion of the device supporting unit in a vertical direction. The tilting frictional unit includes a first arc member fixed to the connection unit and a second arc member fixed to the device supporting unit. The first and second arc members contact each other to generate frictional force.
Abstract:
An anti-rolling device of a ball and socket joint prevents the rolling movement of a moving body coupled to the ball effectively without hindering omni-directional tilt rotational movement of the moving body, i.e. a moving part relative to the socket, a fixing part. The anti-rolling device comprises: a bracket on the moving part that is fixed to the circumference of the moving body; a guide channel whose upper part is pivoted to the bracket on the moving part; a sliding bar coupled to the guide channel in a way being possible to be slid thereinto; and a bracket on the fixing part which is mounted on the fixing part and coupled with the lower part of the sliding bar.
Abstract:
A device holding captive a hinge pin in a housing of a cover element, such as a grate or a lid, of a manhole. The device has a cotter pin attached in a removable manner to the cover element to axially retain a hinge pin in a housing of the element against a restoring force of an elastic inserted between the pin and the bottom of the housing. The invention can be applied to roadway equipment.
Abstract:
An alignment device for aligning a second aperture in a second plate with a first aperture in a first plate and an alignment method of utilizing the same. The alignment device includes a main body, a first part extending from the main body, and a second part extending from the first part. The main body comprises a first linear dimension exceeding a width of the second aperture for disposing overlying the second plate. The first part comprises a second linear dimension for extending and fitting into the second aperture. The second part comprises a third linear dimension for extending and fitting into the first aperture.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses unique apparatus for attaching a bicycle seat to a typical bicycle seat support post. The seat attaching apparatus permits the seat to controllably tilt, to the left and/or right of the bicycle longitudinal center line, as the bicyclist leans left or right as he/she pedals along. Thus, friction that normally occurs between the bicycle seat and the rider's inner thigh and crotch area significantly reduced or eliminated.
Abstract:
A device suitable for supporting a component, such as a flat display screen, which device comprises a first arm, which can be connected to a wall with a first end thereof, being pivotable about a first pivot axis, and which is connected to a first end of a second arm with a second end thereof, being pivotable about a second pivot axis, which second arm can be connected to the component that is to be supported with a second end thereof, being pivotable about a third pivot axis. The device is furthermore provided with a third arm, which can be connected to the wall with a first end, being pivotable about a fourth pivot axis, and which is connected to a first end of a fourth arm with a second end, being pivotable about a fifth pivot axis, which fourth arm can be connected to the component to be supported with a second end, being pivotable about a sixth pivot axis. The third and the fourth arm are substantially in mirror symmetry with respect to the first and the second arm in practically any position of the arms.
