    摘要: The present invention provides an anti-kickback for arresting movement of a rail accommodated within an elongate channel. The anti-kickback device includes a slide member arranged to slide along a slide surface between an extended position and a retracted position. The device further includes a resilient member which biases the slide member along the slide surface. The slide member, when in the extended position, is designed to urge the rail into abutment with a wall of the channel to arrest movement of the rail accommodated within the channel. The device further includes a manually operable button coupled to the slide member to enable user-operated movement of the slide member towards the retracted position and a lock mechanism for holding the slide member in the retracted position.

    摘要: A saw guide for guiding the blade of a saw during cutting of a workpiece comprises a housing having a basal surface and a guide surface adapted to be positioned on a workpiece to be cut, such that with the basal surface engaging a surface of the workpiece, the guide surface extends across the surface to be cut at a forward position of the housing, such that a cutting member in face to face contact with the guide surface may be guided during cutting of the workpiece, and measuring means for measuring a position of the guide surface with respect to the workpiece such that, in use, the position of the guide surface may be monitored by reference to said measuring means, during a cutting operation of the workpiece. The saw guide enables a cut to be made with continual reference to the measuring means.

    摘要: A cutting device for strip stock includes a stationary blade and a motor-driven, movable blade that continuously contacts against the stationary blade, constituting a point of support. Two other points of support for the movable blade are equally spaced from the cutting edge of the blade and from the sides of the blade. The other two supporting points also function as blade drive points for moving the blade in a reciprocating manner. The drive points are connected to an output shaft of the motor through a gear assembly. A pair of ball bearings on each side of the blade, which are laterally spaced from each other on each respective side of the blade, cooperate with the blade to achieve a very low friction for the device during operation.

A pair of pneumostatic bearings are provided to constrain and guide movement of the punch through the die, each bearing having a segmented journal that includes a plurality of journal segments formed with a pneumostatic bearing surface, the journal segments being adjustably mounted, relative to the frame, to receive the punch therebetween so that the bearing surface on each journal segment is in closely spaced relation to an opposing one of the bearing surfaces on the punch. Also provided are means for controllably supplying a pressurized gas to the bearing surface on each journal segment, to facilitate constraining and guiding movement of the punch through the die, and means for effecting such movement of the punch through the die so as to move the cutting edge(s) on the punch into coacting relation with the cutting edge(s) on the die.
