摘要: A method of generating a suggested optimal time for performing an agricultural operation in a field includes receiving data related to a current condition of a crop in the field. A predicted optimal time to perform the agricultural operation in the field is calculated using an agricultural model. Crowdsourcing data is received related to agricultural operations occurring within a defined area surrounding the field and within a defined preceding time period. The predicted optimal time to perform the agricultural operation is adjusted based on the crowdsourcing data, to generate the suggested optimal time to perform the agricultural operation. The suggested optimal time is communicated to a communicator located remote from the computing device and then displayed on the communicator.

摘要: The present disclosure discloses a method for producing raw cotton of machine-harvested long-staple cotton with a modal length of greater than or equal to 35 mm, including the steps: planting sea-island long-staple cotton and machining seed cotton, wherein planting the sea-island long-staple cotton includes preparation before machine harvesting, defoliation and ripening, choosing a cotton variety, etc.; and machining the seed cotton includes preparation before seed cotton ginning, mechanical separation of cotton seeds and raw cotton, and finishing the separated raw cotton. Raw cotton fibers obtained by the method of the present disclosure have main quality indexes that: a fiber length is 36.5-38.4 mm, a specific strength is 42.3-46.1 cN/tex, a uniformity is 86.2-87.0%, a foreign-fiber content is 0.2-0.4 g/t, and an impurity content is 2.6-3.4%. According to the method, not only can impurities and foreign fibers be effectively removed, but also mechanical damage to the raw cotton of the machine-harvested long-staple cotton with the modal length of greater than or equal to 35 mm is relatively small.

摘要: A root crop harvester comprises means for picking up a mixture of roots, dirt and debris from the surface of a cultivated field and conveying the mixture upwardly and rearwardly along the harvester. The mixture is cleaned of small articles of dirt and debris by apertures along the conveyor means, ribbed rollers and the like. The partially cleaned mixture is passed to sorting conveyors which counterrotate to convey approximately one-half (1/2) of the mixture towards each side of the harvester. Sources of light are positioned to transmit light along the terminal ends of the sorting conveyors and a plurality of light sensors are positioned to receive light reflected from objects located at the terminal ends of the sorting conveyors. The reflected light is processed to generate root signals and dirt/debris signals. Rejecting fingers respond to the root signals to pass roots to a root crop conveyor and respond to dirt/debris signals to pass dirt and debris to a dirt and debris conveyor. The disclosed apparatus and method allow for mass flow sorting as well as either active or passive dirt and debris rejection.

摘要: A self-propelled harvesting machine for harvesting a crop field has a ground drive including multiple working units, a control system and a sensor system. The sensor system periodically emits transmitted pulses of electromagnetic transmission beams in at least one transmission direction onto the crop field and the transmitted pulses are reflected on the crop field and are received as echo pulses by the sensor system. For at least one portion of the transmitted pulses, different partial beams of a single transmission beam are reflected by plants of the crop field lying one behind the other with a time offset, so the particular resultant echo pulse is composed of time-offset partial echo pulses. The control system determines a value for the crop density on the basis of a time correlation within the resultant echo pulse, and controls the ground drive and/or the working units on the basis of the determined crop density.

摘要: In the process of the invention, the onion stalks are cut and the upper ends thereof are agitated prior to drying thereof to effect removal of the seed capsules from the umbels. The apparatus of the invention comprises means for cutting the onion stalks and conveying the upper portions thereof with the umbels thereon into one end of a perforated rotating drum. A beater is coaxially and rotatably supported within the drum to agitate the onion stalk portions and thereby separate the seed capsules from the stalks and umbels. The drum and beater are peferably rotated in the same direction, but can be counter-rotated. Said seed capsules fall through the perforations of the drum into appropriate receiving means and the stalks and other debris are discharged from the other end of the drum.

摘要: A method and apparatus for harvesting green peanuts comprising severing the peanut foliage from the peanuts which remain implanted in the ground by means of a vine cutting apparatus and plowing up the green peanuts and cleaning them by means of a novel combine. The vine cutting apparatus comprises a wheeled vehicle which is towed behind a tractor and has a transversely extending, ground engaging reciprocating cutter which severs the foliage, a conveyor which upwardly transports the foliage to be directed by a blower means through a chute into a container pulled behind the apparatus. The combine uproots the peanut pods by means of a single, transverse digger blade, upwardly conveys them and shakes the dirt therefrom and dumps the peanuts into the main body of the combine where the dirt is removed, the stems are severed from peanuts, and the peanuts are stored.
