Abstract:
An assembly of cannula and endoscope and dissection tip facilitate surgical procedures at remote surgical site in tissue of a patient. Relative rotation of the cannula about the endoscope from clamped rotational fixation of the cannula and endoscope is made possible by flexing a resilient clamping segment, and such relative rotation promotes convenient positioning of an eccentric tissue-dissecting tip about a vessel being harvested from within tissue of a patient. Color tinting of the tip or color-tinted illumination of tissue at a remote surgical site enhances contrasting visualization through the tip via the endoscope among the tissue types encountered at the surgical site within a patient. A tool bridge or lateral support mounts to a more rigid component such as an endoscope that extends from the proximal end of a cannula to support a more flexible surgical instrument also extending from the proximal end of the cannula.
Abstract:
A linear lens system for rigid endoscopes for the conversion of a distal intermediate image into a proximal intermediate image, is characterized by a first non-symmetrically arranged sequence of two linear lenses, a subsequent odd sequence of similar, non-cemented, symmetrically biconvex linear lenses, and a final sequence of two linear lenses, arranged as a mirror image to the first sequence.
Abstract:
An endoscope including; a fixing member detachably mounted to a distal end portion of an endoscope insertion part for detachably fixing and holding a distal end portion of an indwelling tube or a distal end portion of a guide member for guiding the indwelling tube, both of which are provided along the axial direction of the insertion part, to the distal end portion of the insertion part.
Abstract:
A speculum according to the invention comprises two parts, an outer member (1) and an inner member (2). The outer member (1) comprises a tubular body (3) having an anterior end (4) with an opening (6) and a posterior end (5) with an opening (7). An elongate slot (11) is formed in the side wall (12) of the tubular body (3), extending from the opening (7) at the posterior end (5) towards the anterior end (4). The inner member (2) of the speculum comprises a cup-shaped body (13) having an anterior end (14) formed as a plug (16) and a posterior end (15) with an opening (17). An elongate key member (18) is formed in the side wall (19) of the cup-shaped body (13), extending from the opening (17) at the posterior end (15) towards the anterior end (14). The speculum is assembled by inserting the inner member (2) within the outer member (3) and aligning the key member (18) with the elongate slot (11). When the spectrum has been inserted within a body cavity, the inner member (2) may be removed and the outer member (3) may be rotated to align the elongate slot (11) with a site of interest in the cavity wall, thus allowing a user to examine tissue in the body cavity or to have access to sites of required surgical procedures.

Abstract:
Three magnetic field generating coils on the distal end side of the shape detection probe are provided in the curvable portion, and the first coil at the leading end position is placed at the position corresponding to the leading end curvable piece, whereas the third coil at the position corresponding to the trailing end curvable piece. Further, the second coil is placed at a middle position between the leading end curvable piece and the trailing end curvable piece in the curvable portion. With this structure, the accuracy of detecting the shape of the curvable portion can be improved, and the production cost of the system as a whole can be lowered.
Abstract:
An endoscope where problems due to a difference of deformation amount in the longitudinal direction generated between the flexible tube and the integrated object during autoclave sterilization are prevented, wherein the insertion part is comprised of a hard tip part and a flexible tube which is linked to the base of the hard tip part via a curving part, the tip of a treatment instrument tube is secured to a metal pipe disposed in a through hole of the hard tip part, the base part is secured to a branch pipe, and the treatment instrument tube has a shrinkage factor x having a characteristic x
Abstract:
An operational remote controller integrates a joystick for bending a bending portion of an inserted portion in an endoscope. A bending lever stands on the joystick. For every automatically returning of the bending lever to a neutral position, a CPU of the operational remote controller detects the neutral position and sets an insensitive band within a predetermined range of the neutral position. Thus, the insensitive band can be set within a relatively narrow range irrespective of variation of neutral positions. The CPU supplies positional information of the bending lever to a control circuit for controlling a motor drive circuit. The control circuit controls a motor drive circuit based on the supplied positional information, and the motor drive circuit drives a motor to bend the bending portion of the inserted portion.
Abstract:
An endoscope device is provided which includes a manipulation portion and an inserted portion connected thereto, and an endoscope holder is provided at an elevated position, for example, on a ceiling. The endoscope device is rotatably suspended from the endoscope holder with its inserted portion extending downward. The endoscope holder has an endoscope manipulation unit for operating the endoscope device and peripheral equipment.
Abstract:
An endoscope comprises a plurality of members constituting the endoscope, and parts-bonded sections each having at least members thereof bonded together using an adhesive. The temperatures of thermal destruction at which the adhesives included in the parts-bonded sections are thermally destroyed are made equal to or higher than the maximum temperature attained during a high-pressure steam sterilization process. At the same time, the temperatures of thermal destruction are made equal to or lower than the heat-resistance temperatures above which members bonded using the adhesives or members located near the bonded members included in the parts-bonded sections fail to resist heat.
