摘要: A method for making a ceramic body comprised of a ceramic material having an inhibitory effect on bacterial growth is provided. A dental prosthesis may be made of a ceramic material that comprises a molybdenum-containing component on a portion of the prosthesis that contacts the gingival surface of a patient. In one method, a porous zirconia ceramic structure is shaped in the form of a dental prosthesis, and then infiltrated with a molybdenum-containing composition, before sintering to densify the ceramic structure.

摘要: A biocompatible composite material for controlled release is disclosed, comprising a biocompatible metal oxide structure with a loaded network of pores. The pore network of the biocompatible composite material is filled with a uniformly distributed biologically active micellizing amphiphilic molecule, the size of these pores ranging from about 0.5 to about 100 nanometers. The material is characterized in that when exposed to phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), the controlled release of the active amphiphilic molecule is predominantly diffusion-driven over time.

摘要: Embodiments described herein are related to pellets that are placed within an extraction site that is in need of bone augmentation and preservation. The pellets are typically cylindrical in shape and comprise a material and a polymer coating. The pellets may advantageously facilitate sufficient new bone growth that jaw bone deterioration is prevented. The pellets create, arrange, and assemble an ideal growth environment for new bone growth to rapidly grow and preserve the original contours of an individual's jaw bone.

摘要: A method of fabricating a dental restoration is provided that includes the initial step of providing a powder of a dental material. An amount of a binder is then selectively deposited onto the powder of the dental material to produce an unfinished layer of the dental material. Multiple layers of the dental material are then produced by continually providing a powder of dental material and selectively depositing an amount of a binder until a three-dimensional unfinished model is produced. The unfinished model is then separated from an amount of unaffected powder, and is sintered to produce a three-dimensional dental restoration having a functionally-graded structure.

摘要: Provided is a dental pretreatment material for dental tissue regeneration by use of dental pulp stem cells, particularly a dental pretreatment material effectively enabling dental tissue regeneration even by use of dental pulp stem cells of middle-aged or older individuals. The dental pretreatment material is characterized by comprising a serine protease, specifically trypsin. The dental pretreatment material comprising trypsin is used as an injection into a root canal before a root canal filling material comprising dental pulp stem cells and an extracellular matrix is inserted into the root canal as an attempt to regenerate a dental pulp and a dentin. The root canal filling material includes an ALK5 inhibitor, a CCR3 antagonist, or a CCL11 neutralizing antibody.

摘要: Dental compositions and methods of formulating a dental composition are described. In one embodiment, the dental composition comprises a polymerizable resin comprising one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers or oligomers and nanoparticles. The nanoparticles have a refractive index of at least 1.600 and an average discrete or aggregate particle size of no greater than 100 nm. The dental composition further comprises inorganic metal oxide filler having a discrete or aggregate average particle size of at least 200 nm. The nanoparticles are present at a concentration to provide a refractive index differential between the cured polymerizable resin and inorganic metal oxide filler such that the contrast ratio of the dental composition is at least 40.

摘要: The present invention provides a dental curable composition that shows fluorescence sufficient to enable highly aesthetic harmonious restoration almost indistinguishable from surrounding natural teeth, and that, while having sufficient mechanical strength and radiopacity and good ease of polishing as a restorative material, desirably resists discoloration not only in the intraoral environment but under accelerated heating conditions and under xenon light, without losing fluorescence even under these conditions. The present invention also provides a cured product of such a dental curable composition. The present invention relates to a dental curable composition comprising a polymerizable monomer (A), an inorganic filler (B), a polymerization initiator (C), and a fluorescent agent (D), wherein the fluorescent agent (D) comprises a 9- to 11-membered benzo-fused heterocyclic compound containing two or more heteroatoms (excluding benzoimidazole compounds).
