摘要: A thread-based filter having a thread-based medium including multiple threads and a tube, the tube at least partially housing the thread-based medium with the threads oriented lengthwise along the length of the tube and the thread-based medium is configured to trap impurities present in a fluid flowing substantially lengthwise along the threads during a filtration mode, and the thread-based medium is configured to release impurities into a fluid flowing substantially lengthwise along the threads during a washing mode.

摘要: An improved filtering device is described of the type that separates solid materials from a liquid stream. The device includes in a pipeline a housing with a liquid inlet and outlet connection and a cylindrical filter screen which separates the solids from the liquid stream. An adjusting valve is arranged in the inlet connection to pivot about an axis spaced from the peripheral surface of the housing by a distance equal to the radius of the valve. In this manner, the liquid stream is excited into a swirling flow about the cylindrical filter, thereby removing deposited solids from the surface.

摘要: A filter system for filtering solids includes a filtration tank for receiving a slurry containing the solids to be filtered. A filter assembly including a plurality of filter cells each having a filter medium at an exterior and a cavity at an interior is lowered into the filtration tank using a transport device carrying the filter assembly. A vacuum transfer system is connected to the filter assembly so as to transfer a vacuum to an interior of the filter cells. The vacuum transfer system is operable to perform the filtering and to retain the filtered solids while the transport device moves the filter assembly relative to the filtration tank.

摘要: A filter assembly and method of filtering a fluid containing particulates is provided having a filter element mounted on a horizontal mandrel, whereby the filter element and mandrel are rotatable within a housing during a self-cleaning step, wherein the filter element is immersed and agitated in a cleaning liquid followed by high speed rotation while a rinsing liquid is delivered to the core of the filter element. An ultrasonic transducer in the housing may be activated while the filter element is immersed in the cleaning liquid to assist in removing accumulated particulates from the filter element.

摘要: An apparatus and method for filtering a fluid containing contaminants is provided whereby the apparatus includes an inlet for drawing fluid from a fluid source, a housing having attached thereto the inlet, a contaminant outlet, a clean outlet, a filtering assembly and a mechanism for agitating the filtering assembly. The filtering assembly has an upper or upstream end connected to the inlet and a lower or downstream end connected to the contaminant outlet. The filtering assembly is disposed within the housing and is connected to the contaminant outlet whereby fluid is introduced to the filter assembly at an upper end of the filtering assembly by the fluid inlet and whereby fluid is passed through the filtering assembly to provide clean, filtered fluid which is discharged via the clean outlet, and debris and other contaminants contained in the fluid are separated from the fluid and retained by the filtering assembly. The debris and other contaminants that are retained by the filtering assembly are discharged via a lower or downstream end of the filtering assembly, and through the contaminant outlet. The agitating mechanism agitates the filtering assembly to move the filtering assembly through the clean, filtered fluid to independently remove the debris and contaminants that have been retained by the filtering assembly.

摘要: A dirty swimming pool filter is journaled for rotation about a vertical array of nozzles and spun about a vertical axis by the action of the spray. The rotation can be fast enough that centrifugal forces aid in the cleaning operation by sloughing dirt off the outside of the filter. One version of the apparatus includes a second vertical array of nozzles external to the filter and directing a spray against the outer face of the filter, which aids in sloughing dirt off it. This second array is rotatable about its own vertical axis and can be used to control the rate of rotation of the filter being cleaned. A sealed bearing is provided at the base of the filter to allow free rotation about the first vertical array of nozzles.
