摘要: A method and apparatus of producing tubes for use in a heat exchanger, in which a tube is moved along a production line in a direction, predetermined breaking points are created in the tube, and in which the tube is severed at the predetermined breaking points to form individual tubes with a tearing-off device having a first clamp and a second clamp. The first clamp can be reciprocated along the direction, and the tube can be moved substantially continuously along the production line in the direction through the tearing-off device. Also, the second clamp can be reciprocated along the direction substantially simultaneously with the first clamp.

摘要: The method for manufacturing heat exchanger elements includes the steps of forming an open tubular base body having a longitudinal extension having a width that is substantially greater than the height thereby defining narrow and wide sides of the tubular base body. In the longitudinal extension of the tubular base body a longitudinal opening with longitudinal edges remains. Two strips of sheet metal are removed from a supply roll and corrugated to form corrugated sheet metal strips. The open tubular base body and the corrugated sheet metal strips are advance continuously and parallel to one another in the direction of the longitudinal extension through a fastening device such that the wide sides face the corrugated sheet metal strips. The corrugated sheet metal strips are pressed onto the wide sides and then fastened to the wide sides at some locations of contact between the wide sides and the of corrugated sheet metal strips. Subsequently, the longitudinal edges of the opening are joined to close the opening and form a closed tubular structure. During fastening of the corrugated sheet metal strips onto the wide sides, the wide sides of the open tubular base body are supported from the interior by a support structure.

摘要: The strengthening and stiffening of long, curved or tapered tubes is achieved by using internal strengtheners. The strengthening element conforms to the internal shape of the tube as it is inserted into the tube. The parts of the strengthening element which are then in contact with the inside of the tube have pre-formed welding material attached to them; a solid connection between the strengthener and the tube is achieved by selective heating, welding or by blowing adhesive material through the tube.If a tube has the non-welded strengthener in place, the forming or bending of the tube may proceed, since the strengthener takes the form of the tube at any stage of forming. The process is especially suitable for tubes with different cross-sections along their length. After the strengthener has assumed its final position within the formed tube, a rotational prestress or torque applied to the strengthener before welding is a means of prestressing the tube in one helical direction, which is followed by the welding step. In a long tube, after the strengthener has assumed its final position within the tube, the strengthener can be longitudinally prestressed while the tube is formed, thus providing a longitudinally prestressed tube after the welding step. The channels created by the welding process may be used to transmit fluids or gases.

摘要: An internally finned multiple piece tube for use in a heat exchanger including an elongated fin 28, a first, elongated, C-shaped channel 24 having a first base 34 and spaced first legs 36, and a second, elongated C-shaped channel 26 having a second base 38 and spaced second legs 40. The fin 28 and the second channel 26 are nested in the first channel 24 between the first legs 36 thereof such that the fin 28 is sandwiched between and engaged by both the first and second bases 34 and 38 with the first legs 36 extending around and behind the second legs 40 to hold the tube 20 in assembled relation.
