    摘要: A method of manufacturing a shell from sheet metal for a room air conditioner/heat pump is shown. The sheet metal is stamped and formed to a U-shaped rectangular shell with open ends and a shell brace. Flanges on the outer edge of the U-shaped rectangular shell overlap at corners with (a) adjacent flanges or (b) the shell brace. Both the U-shaped rectangular shell and shell brace are inserted into an assembly machine where the corners are clinched and punched. The outermost flange at each corner is punched to a fixed diameter, but the innermost flange or the shell brace is only punched to a conical shape. Screws are inserted at each corner that pass through the fixed diameter to threadably engage only the conical shape of the innermost flange or shell brace.

    摘要: A muffler having a baffle with angled plates includes a one piece baffle, a container and two end caps. The one piece baffle has at least three different configurations. The baffle preferably has two, three or four plates, namely “V”, “Z” or “W” shapes. Each one piece baffle configuration includes openings to allow exhaust flow therethrough. Each one piece baffle configuration is retained in the container. The container is terminated with end caps on each end thereof. At least one inlet tube and at least one outlet tube are attached to a perimeter of the container. In a second embodiment, the container and baffle are formed from a single piece of material. In a third and fourth embodiment, the inlet and outlet tubes are inserted through plates of the baffle. In a fifth embodiment, balanced tubes and chambers are added. In a sixth embodiment, a corrugated baffle is used.

    摘要: The method enables a stainless steel cooking utensil to be formed with a decorated base, the base being of the type comprising three layers, of which one is an intermediate layer of a good heat conducting metal and the other two layers are of stainless steel. Compared with traditional methods for forming normal utensils of the aforesaid type, there is a further step of positioning on the outer stainless steel layer at least one sheet portion of a metal having a melting point not less than that of the metal forming the intermediate layer. An aluminum foil is interposed between the sheet portion and the outer stainless steel layer if the metal of the sheet portion does not enable a direct permanent connection to be achieved between the sheet portion and the outer layer. A decoration can also be obtained on the inside of the utensil base in a similar manner.

    摘要: A safe box-like structure of good appearance is formed in a simplified manner from a flat metal sheet by folding at right angles the opposite side portions of a flat rectangular metal sheet, for instance, of a steel sheet to provide a channel-shaped metal sheet, forming in each end portion of the upright side sections of the channel-shaped metal sheet a diagonal crease extending from an inner end of a prescribed vertical fold line disposed substantially perpendicular to the bottom section of the bottom section of the channel-shaped metal sheet to the outer corner point of the end portion of the side section, pressing a triangular intermediate section between the prescribed vertical fold line and the diagonal crease inwardly of the channel-shaped metal sheet, folding the triangular intermediate section and an outer triangular section toward each other along the afore-mentioned prescribed vertical fold line and diagonal crease, and upbending opposite end portions of the channel-shaped metal sheet at right angles, putting inside the wedge-shaped portions consisting of overlapped triangular sections which are formed at the joints of the adjacent side and end sections of the box-like structure, thereby precluding the dangers which would be otherwise invited by exposed wedge-shaped portions.
