Abstract:
A method for producing a valve body of a hollow valve includes providing a workpiece blank or semi-finished product, spin extruding the workpiece to produce a preform having a cup with a hollow shape formed by the cup wall. A hollow valve produced by this method is also provided.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a steel Yankee drier including a cylindrical steel mantle with two end heads on each of which a corresponding pin is arranged, the cylindrical mantle having an external surface and an internal surface, and the internal surface of the mantle in cooperation with the end heads delimiting an internal chamber of the Yankee drier in which steam can be introduced. The surface protective coating is at least partially formed on the internal surface of the mantle by introducing a predetermined amount of a nickel bath in a volume delimited in a radial direction by the internal surface of the mantle, followed by a permanence of the bath in said volume for a predetermined time. The surface protective coating protects the internal surface of the mantle from corrosive and/or abrasive agents contained in the steam introduced into said chamber.
Abstract:
A hot-spinning formation method for large-diameter titanium alloy cylindrical parts. A workblank is placed in a resistance furnace to heated to 600-650° C., is maintained at this temperature for 0.5-1 h and is then taken out of the resistance furnace; after the workblank is heated, the inner diameter of the workblank becomes larger; the heated workblank is installed on a mandrel, and spinning is started when a maximum clearance between the workblank and the mandrel is less than 0.5 mm; the mandrel and the spinning rollers do not need to be preheated, and a multi-pass spinning process is adopted, such that the workblank can deform more uniformly. A vertical spinning lathe is used for spinning, the mandrel is easy to change, and the workblank is easy to assemble and disassemble.

Abstract:
A method for producing a formed, flanged component is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: preforming a workpiece a preformed component; and calibrating the preformed component to a substantially completely formed component. The method strengthens the reinforcement in the component and widens the spectrum of application to components in particular, to tub-shaped components. The calibrating of the preformed component to the completely formed component includes stretching the preformed component at least in portions. The present disclosure relates further to a device for producing a formed, flanged component.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an annular component comprises providing an annular shell to form the outer wall of the component and a plurality of flat annular rings wherein a radially inner edge of each ring is shaped to correspond to a cross-section of the shell at a different position along its length. The method comprises attaching each ring to the ring(s) adjacent to it at a plurality of circumferentially spaced discrete positions. The method comprises deforming each flat annular ring into a corrugated three-dimensional shape, wherein the corrugations extend out of the flat plane and comprise radially defined peaks and troughs. The method comprises locating the shell within the plurality of attached, deformed annular rings. The method comprises attaching the plurality of attached, deformed annular rings to the shell to form the component, so that the plurality of attached, deformed annular rings provide structural reinforcement to the shell.
Abstract:
A method of forming a cup-shaped body for a beverage capsule comprising the steps of: a) in a first stage drawing a sheet of material into a cup-shaped body preform; and b) in a second stage transforming the cup-shaped body preform into the cup-shaped body; wherein after the first stage the cup-shaped body preform comprises a base and a preformed side wall which extends from the base to a rim; wherein the preformed side wall comprises: an outwardly-extending step proximate the rim; a primary side wall section extending between the base and the outwardly-extending step; and a secondary side wall section extending between the outwardly-extending step and the rim; wherein in the second stage the preformed side wall is deformed such that the cup-shaped body comprises the base and a side wall which extends from the base to the rim; wherein the side wall comprises: an annular trough; a first side wall section extending between the base and the annular trough; and a second side wall section extending between the annular trough and the rim.
Abstract:
A tool assembly for forming a workpiece with an outer surface into a housing with a non-round design outer profile. The tool assembly includes a number of jaw segments, each jaw segment having an internal surface for engaging the outer surface. The jaw segments are movable between a first condition and a second condition, in which the internal surfaces of the jaw segments substantially define the design outer profile of the housing. Each internal surface has a preselected end point associated therewith defined by a radius centered on the preselected end point that is substantially coincident with the portion of the design outer profile defined by the internal surface. Each jaw segment is movable toward the preselected end point therefor when moved from the first condition to the second condition, and away from the preselected end point therefor when moved from the second condition to the first condition.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed which are suitable for use in the manufacture of two-piece metal containers. In particular, a way of making cups from metal sheet is disclosed using a combination of stretching and drawing operations. The resulting cups have the advantage of having a base thickness that is thinner relative to the ingoing gauge of the metal sheet.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a porous metal foam cone assembly. The metal foam cone assembly according to the present invention includes providing a porous metal foam sheet; cutting the porous metal foam sheet to be in a predetermined shape using a cutting press that is provided with a knife tool; disposing the cut metal foam sheet on a base plate of a forming die and then primarily forming the metal foam sheet using a mandrel of a cone shape; secondarily forming the metal foam sheet using a left slider and a right slider of the forming die; and pressing an overlapping portion of the metal foam sheet using a stamping jig of the forming die after the forming using the left and right sliders.
