Each of the first die member and the second die member has a process surface. The process surface has a start forming portion having a process tooth configured to bite the rod member and an arc surface portion proximate the process tooth, an intermediate forming portion having the process tooth and a curved surface proximate the process tooth, the curved surfaced being configured to press the rod member to form an arched shape, and a finish forming portion having the process tooth and a hemispheric groove configured to press the rod member into the arched shape to form the ball portion.

    摘要: In a method and an apparatus for the manufacture of a workpiece with a rotation-symmetrically hardened surface area, the workpiece surface area to be hardened is initially applied with a carrier film of pulverized alloying elements. A roll is radially infed to the carrier film, accompanied by the rotation of the workpiece. Under the influence of heat, the pulverized alloying elements of the carrier film are rolled into the surface area of the workpiece so that the alloying elements are intercalated into the workpiece surface and increase its hardness. For performing this method, the workpiece is clamped on a spindle driven in a rotary manner. A receiving hopper and an application device are radially spaced from the spindle and are interconnected by a supply device.

    摘要: In forming helical splines with stoppers on a rotary shaft, its large-diameter portion is held between a pair of rolling tools, each of which comprises: a helical teeth forming die having inclined teeth; an aligning teeth die having aligning teeth which are aligned with every other inclined tooth when combined with the helical teeth forming die; and a finishing teeth die having finishing teeth which are equal in pitch to the aligning teeth. Under this condition, the shaft is rolled under pressure by moving the rolling tools, to form helical grooves, and communication grooves communicated with every other helical grooves on the large-diameter portion, leaving stoppers between the communication grooves. Hence, the helical splines are formed by one rolling operation, with burrs formed between the spline grooves and the communication grooves being automatically removed.
