Methods for making electroactive composite materials for electrochemical cells are provided. The method includes introducing a particle mixture comprising a first particle having a first diameter (R1) and comprising a first electroactive material and a second particle having a second diameter (R2) smaller than the first diameter (R1) and comprising a second electroactive material into a dry-coating device having a rotatable vessel defining a cavity and a rotor disposed therewithin. The vessel is rotated at a first speed in a first direction, and the rotor is rotated at a second speed greater than the first speed in a second direction opposing the first direction. The particle mixture flows between cavity walls and the rotor and experiences thrusting and compression forces that create a substantially uniform coating comprising the second electroactive material on one or more exposed surfaces of the first particle.

The adhesiveness of a thermal spray coating and a cylinder internal surface is improved by forming a sufficient roughened surface on an internal surface. A processing roller is installed on the main shaft of a processing device via a pressurizing mechanism. An uneven surface is provided on the external periphery of the processing roller. By pressing the processing roller against the internal surface while the roller rotates and moves, a fine unevenness that corresponds to the unevenness of the roller is formed on the cylinder internal surface. A thermal spray coating is formed on the internal surface where the inner surface has been roughened by forming the above-mentioned unevenness.

A tool for manufacturing of such a mechanical element comprises a support portion, at least one tool working surface, means for providing a force pressing the tool towards the curved surface and driving means for moving said at least one tool working surface in two different directions along said curved surface. The working surface comprises an oxide, carbide and/or suicide of an element capable of forming a stable sulfide.

A process for lowering the gloss of a coated aluminum wheel surface is disclosed. The process comprises applying a roughening agent to the coated aluminum wheel surface via an application means. The roughening agent comprises grit powder, preferably iron or alumina grit, or plastic media and the application means comprises blasting, spraying, or painting. The invention lowers the gloss of the coating without reducing its overall performance. A wheel having a coated surface with a low gloss and a low gloss coating are also disclosed.

Diffusion metallic anticorrosive zinc-iron-aluminum coatings of iron and iron-based item surfaces, realized by heating of products at temperatures of 370null450null C. in a saturating powder mixture environment in a closed container. The coating compositions are multiphase-polymetallic, and comprise zinc, iron and aluminum. Other elements may be added to attain specific coating properties. This coating exhibits a high corrosion resistance (at least a 700-hour corrosion resistance level in a standard salt spray test), a relatively high hardness level and good adhesion to secondary coatings.
