摘要: A beading pattern surface which contains spaces (60) formed by predetermined horizontal lines (40) and predetermined vertical lines (20), and an accompanying method for using the beading pattern surface. The spaces formed by the horizontal and vertical lines are no less than the nominal size of the beads to be used with the beading pattern in constructing the beadwork, and are generally larger in at least one orientation. The spaces of the beading pattern surface may be of different configurations, corresponding to the placement of beads in different beading stitches, and of different sizes, corresponding to the different sizes of beads used. The beading surface may be made of a variety of materials and may have a variety of properties useful for executing beadwork. The beading pattern surface may be used with the accompanying beading method as a means for following patterns, for producing consistent tension, and for improving output and quality of beadwork.

摘要: A surface repair patch for closing an opening around a fixture which is adjacent to or protrudes from a surface is provided. The surface repair patch comprises a sheet having a plurality of openings which extend from the first side to the second side of the sheet. The sheet supports, positions, and reinforces a curable repair compound on a surface before the repair compound is cured. The sheet includes a removable first section which has a border defined by a first line of holes. The first line of holes is configured such that the removable first section may be removed from the sheet by applying pressure to the removable first section. The sheet of the repair patch may further include a removable second section having a border defined by a second line of holes which facilitate removal of the removable second section from the sheet. The sheet may also include a third line of holes which extend from the border of the removable first section to the periphery of the sheet. The third line of holes facilitates separation of a first portion of the sheet, which is on a first side of the third line of holes, from a second portion of the sheet, which is on a second side of the third line of holes. A method of using the surface repair patch together with a curable repair compound to close an opening around a fixture which is adjacent to or protrudes from a surface is also provided.

摘要: An insulating paperboard container is disclosed including a container body having a side wall and a bottom wall with the one side wall including a base layer and an insulating layer on at least a portion of the base layer, preferably on an inside surface of the side wall. The insulating layer being selectively adhered to at least a portion of the base layer such that the selective adhering of the insulating layer to the base layer creates air pockets between the insulating layer and the base layer with the air pockets being expandable in response to contact with a heated liquid. Such a container is formed from an insulating stock material comprising a paperboard base layer and an insulating layer overlying at least a portion of at least of one surface of the base layer with the insulating layer being selectively adhered to the surface of the base layer forming enclosed regions between the base layer and the insulating layer. In order to ensure the formation of pronounced air pockets between the insulating layer and the base layer, the paperboard base layer may be debossed, creating debossed regions with the insulating layer being adhered over the openings of the debossed regions.

摘要: An aperture plate for a charged beam drawing machine includes a body substrate having such a construction that opposite sides of a center plane in a thickness direction have the same structure. With this arrangement, it is possible to minimize a warp occurring in the course of forming the aperture plate, and therefore, the forming yield can be elevated.

摘要: An apertured, compression-resistant web is disclosed, the web comprising a first surface having a plurality of microapertures forming volcano-shaped surface aberrations, a second surface generally parallel to and spaced apart from the first surface. A plurality of fluid passageways extend between the first surface and the second surface to place the first surface and the second surface in fluid communication with one another. The web is formed of a multilayer polymeric film comprising at least one rigid layer and at least one substantially less rigid layer joined to the rigid layer. In a preferred embodiment, a rigid layer has an elastic modulus of at least 120 kpsi a substantially less rigid layer has an elastic modulus of not greater than 75 kpsi. The multilayer film is preferably formed by coextuding a rigid layer comprising a blend of polystyrene and polypropylene, and a substantially less rigid layer comprising a blend of LDPE and LLDPE.

摘要: A laminated structural panel is formed of top, bottom, and one or more intermediate layers of material having low strength at high temperature and with perforated high temperature, high strength materials interleaved between the top, bottom and intermediate layers. Brazing material is clad on the top and bottom layers and the intermediate layer or layers may be entirely of brazing material or clad on both sizes with brazing material, such that when the assembled stack is subjected to high temperature in a high vacuum environment brazing material is caused to melt and fill the perforations in the high strength material. A particular application is for structural panels, used as shelves in manufacturing electronic chips or displays where aluminum is advantageous because it does not outgas or release particles under the high temperature, high vacuum environment used to make the product. Aluminum, however, does not maintain its strength and stiffness at the high temperatures involved. To provide the strength so that the structural panels do not bend under load at high temperatures, the perforated layers of Inconel, stainless steel or magnetic material are incorporated and brazed in place so that they are completely covered by aluminum. Thus they are not exposed to the high temperature, high vacuum environment and cannot contaminate the product.

摘要: The present invention provides perforated film constructions, sign faces including the film constructions, and signs including the sign faces, all of which are capable of having one appearance under light ambient lighting conditions, and another appearance when backlit under dark ambient lighting conditions. The construction is generally planar and includes perforations that occupy, e.g., about 10-35% of the major surfaces of the construction. The perforations are separated by an opaque land area. The back surface of the film construction in the land area (i.e., the surface that is adapted to face the interior of the sign) reflects, e.g., at least about 50% of normal light incident thereon.

摘要: A method and work material for making embossed blanks for sample packages and other free-standing three dimensional display items from a sheet-type work material includes a printer for printing a graphic image on the work material, and a processing mechanism for performing work operations on the work material. The sheet-type work material has a top layer of sheet material, an intermediate layer of sheet material, and a carrier layer of sheet material, with a first layer of adhesive material bonding the top and intermediate layers of sheet material together, and a second layer of adhesive material bonding the intermediate and carrier layers of sheet material together. Any, all, or a combination of the top, intermediate, or carrier layers of sheet material may have shape retaining deformability characteristics to aid in holding an embossed design in the work material. In operation, the printer prints an image onto the work material, which is then advanced to the processing mechanism where a creaser places indented fold lines into the work material, a knife cuts the blank from the work material, and an embosser, moving in either a rasterwise or vectorial motion, embosses a design into the work material. The blank can then be removed from the work material and erected into a package or other free-standing three dimensional display item.
