Abstract:
A multi-functional TPMS sensor fastener torque tool includes a torque driver and a user interface which allows a user to identify the TPMS sensor to be serviced, obtain a recommended fastener torque from a reference torque value database, measure the torque applied to the sensor fastener and alert the user when the reference torque has been reached or exceeded. In one example, the reference TPMS fastener torque values are stored in a memory device in the torque tool which are accessible through a plurality of graphic user interface menus on a display device.
Abstract:
Described are valve stems for wheels or other pressure vessels that may be installed from the exterior of a wheel or pressure vessel without access to the interior, pressure retaining areas. The valve stem may include a body with a barrel and taper. A neck may be between the body and a base that includes a flange, a flange landing, and an air aperture. An air channel runs vertically through the valve stem to allow air to pass from one side of the valve stem to another with a valve core or other flow control device. The base of the valve stem may include a groove that allows the valve stem to be installed into a hole by twisting such that the groove may ride along the rim of the hole and guide the valve stem into a fully seated and sealed position.
Abstract:
A wheel for vehicles includes: a rim and a tyre mounted on the rim and inflated to an operating pressure; axial end portions of a tread band of the tyre radially spaced apart the same distance from a rotation axis of the wheel and a median circumferential line of the tread band axially shifted by a predetermined distance relative to a mid-line plane of the wheel; the wheel mounted on a car with a camber angle substantially zero and with the median circumferential line shifted toward the outside of the car relative to the mid-line plane.
Abstract:
Universal vehicle tire valve core and cap removal installation tool includes a cap removal counterbore at one end of a cylindrical rod member and a reversible valve core engagement member positioned in a counterbore at the opposite end of the cylindrical rod member.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for automatically inserting valve stems of varying sizes into wheels of various sizes in which the appropriate valve stem size is selected by analyzing images of the wheel detected by a camera. The camera is used to determine the diameter, width, and color or contrast of the wheel as well as to determine when a valve stem opening in the wheel is in a proper position for insertion of a valve stem.
Abstract:
In order to be able easily to inflate a tire mounted on a rim with a seal ring (6) arranged between the two beads, without presenting the ordinary inconveniences in mounting, the inflation device is formed of a valve (V, V') provided with a locking element (2, 2') intended to be associated with a locking member (83, 51) separate from the valve. The method of inflation consists then in introducing the valve (V, V') provided with its stem (1, 1') and its locking element (2, 2') into the orifice (64) provided in the ring 6 and into the locking member (83, 51), and then turning the valve.
Abstract:
A machine for inserting tire valves on wheel rims designed for receiving tubeless tires comprises pneumatic, electrical and/or electronic apparatus for logically programming a rim conveyor, apparatus for detaching a single rim and successively positioning same in waiting, operative and discharge positions, apparatus for exerting a pressure against the detached rim in the operative position for engagement with a rotary drive, apparatus for rotating the rim, apparatus for detecting the valve hole in relation to an axis ZZ of the emitting and receiving elements of a detection cell, apparatus for positioning the valve hole on an axis YY common to a centering spindle and to a cylinder carrying the valve to be inserted into the valve hole, apparatus for selecting a valve for each rim, apparatus for positioning the valve into the rim hole, and apparatus for holding the rim during the valve positioning operation.
Abstract:
A tool for installing and removing tire valve cores having a safety bleed feature for directing pressurized air and entrained particles away from the operator so as to prevent injury is provided.
Abstract:
A tool for the insertion of valve stems in the wheel rims for tubeless tires is disclosed. The tool avoids the common practice of removing the tire from the rim for replacement or insertion of the valve stem. The tool is entirely hand powered and operated and comprises a push rod slidably mounted in a body sleeve which has a tapered internal wall with a very slight included angle, less than 10*, so that the rod can be pushed with a minimum of force to compress the bulbous end of the stem until it is discharged into the hole of the rim. The discharge face of the sleeve has a tip that inserts into the hole with an outside shoulder that bears against the rim as the rod is pushed through the sleeve to steady the sleeve and hold it in place.
