Abstract: A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive data indicating a lane change by a first vehicle that is towing a second vehicle, the data including data indicating a direction that first wheels of the first vehicle are turning while the first vehicle is performing the lane change; and during the lane change, instruct a steering system of the second vehicle to turn second wheels of the second vehicle in a same direction as the first wheels.

Abstract: A method for the actuation of an actuating device and to an actuating device with at least one lock, in particular a lock for a front bonnet of a motor vehicle, comprising a rotary latch, wherein the rotary latch can be brought by means of a lock holder into a locked position, with an actuating element connected to the lock, wherein, after a first actuation of the actuating element, the front bonnet can be brought from a locked position into a supported position and wherein, after at least one further actuation of the actuating element, the front bonnet can be brought into a release position, and with an actuation transmission means, in particular a Bowden cable, between the actuating element and the lock, wherein a means for disabling the actuating device is provided, with the result that an actuation of the lock by means of the actuating element can be suppressed.

The hydraulic steering system includes a hydraulic circuit including a plurality of hoses and valves, and the steering cylinder is in fluid communication with at least one of the sensing cylinder and the controller. The hydraulic steering system is configured to transition between: (1) an automatic steering mode and (2) a manual steering mode. A towing system and a method of steering a trailer are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of steering an articulated wheel loader including a front body portion and a rear body portion, the front body portion including a bucket and a pair of front wheels. The rear body portion is pivotally coupled to the front body portion and includes a pair of rear wheels. The method includes steps of: providing a steering command to steer the wheel loader; detecting an angle that a front longitudinal axis of the front body portion forms with a rear longitudinal axis of the rear body portion; and when the detected angle is greater than a threshold automatically implementing a steering brake function to independently brake one of the pair of front wheels or rear wheels that is on a steering side to reduce a speed of the braked wheel to zero so that the braked wheel becomes a pivot point to minimize a turning radius.

Abstract: A trackless train comprising a locomotive and carriages of N trailers is disclosed. The locomotive comprising an axle for a pair of steering drive wheels, controlled by a driver through a bogie, which comprises an angle sensor connected to an input end of a steering angle meter. The kth carriage comprises a steering wheel having a steering mechanism, controlling the steering angle of the steering wheel. The controller comprising an input end connected to an output end of a clock, an odometer and the steering angle meter, and an output end connected to an input end of the steering mechanism of the trailers via an optical network. The controller records time (from clock), mileage (from odometer) and steering angle of the steering drive wheels (steering angle meter), and describes/controls a travelling track of the train, such that the steering wheels of the carriages and the locomotive maintain the same track.

Abstract: A vehicle, a single-wheelset/double-wheelset trackless train and a tracking and steering control method therefor are provided in the invention. The method includes the following steps. During traveling of the vehicle, steering information of the vehicle is continually collected by the controller. Information about a guiding front wheel turning angle, a controlled rear wheel turning angle, a vehicle body position angle, an included angle between vehicle bodies, and a vehicle travel time and speed is collected; an interval for data collection is determined according to a distance between a guiding front wheel and a controlled rear wheel; and when the controlled rear wheel travels to a certain point near a front wheel travel track, the controlled rear wheel is controlled to travel in a travel direction same as that when the front wheel travels to the point. According to the rear wheel tracking and steering control method, the objective that a controlled rear wheel operates in a manner of highly approaching a guiding front wheel track can be achieved; and the higher a data collection frequency is, the higher a track fitting degree of the front wheel and the rear wheel is.
