摘要: A bulkhead protector apparatus is described. The protector is configured to be mounted within a cavity of the sheetpile of a bulkhead in order to prevent waves, wake, and debris from reaching the top portion of the bulkhead, minimizing damage and prolonging the life of the bulkhead. An angled waterguard portion is disposed within the cavity, and is configured to deflect water down and away from the top of the bulkhead. The waterguard portion is mounted to a whaler of the bulkhead via a planar mount portion which is secured to the underside of the whaler of the bulkhead via stainless steel lag bolts.

摘要: A light weight pre-stressed antiballistic article including a monolith ceramic plate/tile bonded to a thin lightweight thermal expansion material with an adhesive, characterized, in that the thermal expansion material has a thermal expansion coefficient at least 50% higher than the ceramic plate/tile, and the thermal expansion material is bonded to either the front face, back face or both faces of the ceramic plate/tile at a bonding temperature of between 50° C. and 250° C. with adhesive and subsequently cooled, whereby upon cooling, the bonded thermal expansion material contracts to a greater extent than the ceramic plate/tile, exerting compression stress on the ceramic plate/tile.

摘要: A marine vessel is maneuvered by independently rotating first and second marine propulsion devices about their respective steering axes in response to commands received from a manually operable control device, such as a joystick. The marine propulsion devices are aligned with their thrust vectors intersecting at a point on a centerline of the marine vessel and, when no rotational movement is commanded, at the center of gravity of the marine vessel. Internal combustion engines are provided to drive the marine propulsion devices. The steering axes of the two marine propulsion devices are generally vertical and parallel to each other. The two steering axes extend through a bottom surface of the hull of the marine vessel.

摘要: An up-armouring kit is suitable for use in protecting a protected zone behind a base 24 against a self forming fragment type landmine. The up-armouring kit comprises an outer wear plate 12, which is advantageously of armour plating of a composition and thickness suitable to prevent penetration by small arm bullets including light machine gun bullets; an inner catch plate 18 of a material having a ductility of at least about 8%; and an intermediate impact absorbing layer 16 of a material selected from the group consisting of a ceramic material, a refractory material, a glass based material and glass. The wear plate, the impact absorbing layer and the catch plate are bonded together in that order to form a sandwich construction (22).

摘要: A ship security device is disclosed including a barrier and a panel. The security device may transition between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration the security device is unassembled and at least the barrier may be arranged in a storage configuration in which the barrier curves or bends through a first angle, and in the second configuration the security device is assembled in an arrangement for use, in which the security device may be assembled around a rail. In the second configuration at least a part of the panel is orientated to be substantially vertical, and the barrier is curved, bent or folded through a second angle, which is greater than the first angle, to protrude away from the panel in a horizontal direction, perpendicular from a plane extending vertically through the rail, to provide an overhang on an exterior side of the rail.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a shock absorbing arrangement suitable e.g. for ship installed structures comprising a rod, a resilient member arranged in connection to the rod, a structure element and a locking member arranged in connection to the structure element. The locking member is arranged to detachably lock the structure element at a resting position at the rod and the locking member, or the structure element, is supported by the resilient member. The resilient member is configured such that a spring force of the resilient member acts to maintain the structure element essentially at the resting position at the rod. The locking member is further configured to release the structure element from the resting position when being exposed to a force exceeding a predetermined holding force, whereupon the resilient member acts to reinstate the locking of the structure element at the resting position at the rod. The present disclosure further relates to a shock absorbing structure comprising such shock absorbing arrangements.
