    Abstract: Provided is a resin composition capable of forming a coated product that exhibits low adhesion to a metal roll during production and is superior in oxygen barrier property and capable of forming a film or sheet superior in oxygen barrier property, impact strength under low humidity and color tone. The resin composition of the present invention contains 50 to 98 parts by mass of a modified starch (A), 2 to 50 parts by mass of a polyvinyl alcohol (B), 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of a polyoxyalkylene (C), and optionally 0 to 5 parts of a polyol plasticizer (D), wherein the total content of the (A), (B), (C) and (D) is 100 parts by mass.

    Abstract: A method for producing starch soft capsules comprises the following steps: preparing a mixture comprising starch, plasticizer and water, wherein more than 50 weight percent of the starch is present in the form of particles of granular starch; shaping the mixture to form a film in a shaping process; solidifying the mixture by increasing the temperature of the mixture during and/or after the shaping process by more than 5° C.; and shaping the film to form a soft capsule. Soft capsules produced by this method have starch particles bonded to one another. A device for performing this method comprises a shaping device to enable shaping of the starch material to form a film, and a heating device to perform a heat treatment to destructure the starch during and/or after the shaping. It comprises a rotary die device.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a coating formulation, a coating formulation for manufacturing an electrode plate and an undercoating formulation, and their use. These coating formulations are all characterized by containing, in a polar solvent, a hydroxyl-containing resin and an organic acid and/or a derivative thereof. The hydroxyl-containing resin is at least one of (1) a polyvinyl acetal resin, (2) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, (3) a modified and/or unmodified polyvinyl alcohol, and (4) a cyanoethyl-containing polymer. According to the present invention, there is provided a coating formulation capable of forming a coating of excellent adhesion and solvent resistance on a surface of a metal material such as an aluminum material. Also provided are a coating formulation for manufacturing an electrode plate for a battery or a polarizable electrode plate for a capacitor, in which an active material layer has excellent adhesion to a collector made of an aluminum foil, copper foil or the like and is also equipped with excellent electrolyte resistance and improved contact resistance to the collector, an undercoating formulation, the electrode plate and its manufacturing process, the battery, and the capacitor.
