Abstract: Lubricity additives for hydrocarbon fuels are provided according to formula I: wherein n is 1 or 0; each Q is independently selected from oxygen and sulfur; each R is independently selected from C8-C60 alkenyl groups which are substituted or unsubstituted; and L is a linking group comprising 0-20 carbons which may be substituted or unsubstituted and may optionally comprise catenary heteroatoms. Fuel mixtures comprising a hydrocarbon fuel; and a lubricity additive according to the present disclosure are also provided. Methods of making lubricity additives comprise reacting an alkenyl succinic anhydrides (ASA's) with certain bisamides or bisthioamides.

Abstract: A fuel additive composition comprising an anthocyanidin; an amino acid; and a catalyst. The anthocyanidin may comprise delphinidin chloride. The amino acid may comprise aspartic acid, leucine acid, glutamic acid, a non-natural amino acid, or a combination thereof. Embodiments of the present invention also relate to a method for making of fuel additive, the method comprising: providing an anthocyanidin; contacting the anthocyanidin with an amino acid to form an anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture; contacting the anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture with a catalyst. The method may further comprise contacting the anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture with ethanol and/or an acid. The method may further comprise adjusting the pH of the anthocyanidin-amino acid mixture to less than 7.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a fuel composition comprising at least 85% by weight of one or more hydrocarbon fractions consisting of one or more hydrotreated vegetable oils, said fraction(s) having a distillation range between 100 and 400° C. and having a paraffin content greater than or equal to 90% by weight, for reducing the deposits present in the internal parts of a compression ignition engine (or diesel engine). The present invention also relates to a method for cleaning the deposits present in the internal parts of a compression ignition engine using such a composition.

A liquid fuel composition may comprise a liquid fuel and an octane enhancing additive. The octane enhancing additive may comprise an indoline compound with a bicyclic ring structure, wherein the indoline compound comprises a six-membered aromatic ring and a five-membered aliphatic ring that share a carbon-carbon aromatic bond. The five-membered aliphatic ring may be heterocyclic and may comprise a nitrogen positioned in an alpha position to the six-membered aromatic ring.

Abstract: A lubricant suitable for lubricating a two-stroke cycle engine which is fueled with a liquid fuel having a volatility less than that of gasoline comprises an oleaginous synthetic ester, a normally liquid solvent having a kinematic viscosity of less than about 5 or 2 mm2/s at 100° C. and a nitrogen-containing dispersant bearing a hydrocarbyl group of at least 26 carbon atoms and having a nitrogen content of at least 4 percent by weight. The nitrogen content of the lubricant is at least about 0.3 percent by weight.

A liquid fuel composition may comprise a liquid fuel and a high temperature antioxidant additive. Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrogen sulphide scavenging additive composition for scavenging hydrogen sulphide including sulfur containing compounds and mercaptans, particularly for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons, wherein the additive composition comprises substantially reduced amount of nitrogen based hydrogen sulfide scavengers, and is also required in substantially reduced amount, and wherein the additive composition scavenges the sulfur containing compounds not only at room temperature, but also at higher temperatures, and comprises at least a combination of: (A) at least one nitrogen based hydrogen sulfide scavenger; and (B) at least one aliphatic tertiary amine, wherein the nitrogen based hydrogen sulfide scavenger comprises triazine based hydrogen sulfide scavenger. In one embodiment, it also relates to a method for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons, and in another embodiment it relates to a method of using an additive composition of the present invention for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons. In yet another embodiment, it relates to a composition comprising (i) a hydrocarbon and (ii) a hydrogen sulfide scavenging additive composition for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons.

Abstract: A composition of fuel additives includes at least a first additive having a partial ester derivative of polyols and a second additive having a quaternary ammonium salt. The first additive includes at least 50% by mass of a compound A selected from the partial esters of polyols and saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, cyclic or acyclic C4 to C36 monocarboxylic aliphatic hydrocarbarbons, the partial esters being able to be used alone or in a mixture. The disclosure also relates to a diesel fuel including such a composition and the use of the fuel for limiting the deposits in a diesel engine. In particular, the disclosure relates to the use of the fuel containing the composition of additives of the present disclosure in direct-injection diesel engines.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions containing a detergent composition and an active metal containing compound, where the detergent composition includes a quaternary ammonium salt detergent and optionally an oxygen-containing detergent, and where the active metal containing compound is in the form of a colloidal dispersion, comprising an organic phase, particles of an iron compound in its amorphous form, and at least one amphiphilic agent. These compositions may be used in fuels and provide improved engine performance when such fuels are used, specifically by reducing fuel injector fouling in the engine and/or by improving the regeneration of the engine's particulate exhaust trap.
