Abstract: An agent for forming a solid lubricating coating film on a thread portion of oil country tubular goods, in which a binder resin contains a prepolymer and a curing agent, the prepolymer is formed of one or more epoxy resins, 70 parts by weight or more of the prepolymer is contained with respect to 100 parts by weight of the binder resin, the epoxy resin constituting the prepolymer has an epoxy equivalent of 100 or more and 500 or less, the solid lubricant contains boron nitride (BN) in an amount of 80% by weight or more, BN has an average particle size of 10 μm or less, and a total weight of the solid lubricant is 0.1 times or more and two times or less a total weight of the binder resin.

Abstract: A process for solid lubricant filler powder used in abradable coating manufacture comprising mixing a bentonite clay and a hexagonal boron nitride powder to form a mixture of the bentonite clay and the hexagonal boron nitride powder; consolidating the bentonite clay and the hexagonal boron nitride powder to form a composite material; heat treating the composite material to at least 500 degrees centigrade; breaking up the composite material into a variety of sizes; and segregating the composite material to produce a final product of free flowing, low dust powder of composite hexagonal boron nitride and calcined bentonite.

Abstract: A coating composition for a lubricating coating film includes: (A) a phenolic resin; (B) an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight of 600 to 4000; and (C) at least one type of solid lubricant. The epoxy equivalent weight is generally defined by the number average molecular weight per the number of epoxy groups in a single molecule. The coating composition has a weight ratio of component (A) to the total weight of component (A) and component (B) of at least 50 weight %. A lubricating coating film, formed from the coating composition, has a high level of flexibility on surfaces of various base materials.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the well drilling field in petroleum industry, in particular to a nano-hybrid lubricant and method thereof, and oil-based drilling fluid. The lubricant comprises: graphite oxide and a biquaternary ammonium salt compound of which the cation part is represented by formula (1). The present invention also provides a method for preparation of the lubricant and an oil-based drilling fluid containing the lubricant. The lubricant provided in the present invention can be comprehended as a nano-hybrid material. Thus, oil-based drilling fluids that contain the lucbricant provided in the present invention have lower lubrication coefficient and excellent lubricating property without or with little negative impact on rheological property of the oil fluid, and the lubricant provided in the present invention has excellent thermostability thus suitable for use in operation at a high temperature.

Abstract: Poly alpha olefins (PAOs) are characterized by very low viscosity and excellent Noack volatility. A preferred process for synthesizing said PAOs involves first oligomerizing low molecular weight linear alpha olefins in the presence of a single site catalyst at high temperatures without adding hydrogen and then subsequently oligomerizing at least a portion of the product from the first step in the presence of an oligomerization catalyst.

Abstract: This invention is directed to lubricating compositions comprising a first base oil component consisting of a polyalphaolefin base stock or combination of polyalphaolefin base stocks, each having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of from 3.2 cSt to 3.8 cSt and obtained by a process comprising: (a) contacting a catalyst, an activator, and a monomer in a first reactor to obtain a first reactor effluent, the effluent comprising a dimer product, a trimer product, and optionally a higher oligomer product, (b) feeding at least a portion of the dimer product to a second reactor, (c) contacting said dimer product with a second catalyst, a second activator, and optionally a second monomer in the second reactor, (d) obtaining a second reactor effluent, the effluent comprising at least a trimer product, and (e) hydrogenating at least the trimer product of the second reactor effluent.
