    摘要: A method for producing a synthetic tensile member having a precisely known and stable length. The invention also comprises equipment configured to carry out the method. A tensile member is prepared by attaching terminations to an assembly of synthetic filaments. The tensile member is then attached to a loading apparatus that subjects the tensile member to a pre-defined loading process. The tensile member is thereby conditioned to a stable length. The length is then measured and a length adjusting component is incorporated into the tensile member to create a precise and stabilized length that is configured for the tensile member's particular application.

    摘要: A method for attaching an anchor to an end of a tensile member by inverting the assembly of anchor and tensile member and injecting pressurized potting compound. A length of filaments of the tensile member are placed within a cavity through the anchor. The anchor and filaments are placed in an inverted position, with the distal end of the anchor facing downward and the cable extending upward out of the anchor. If the anchor has an open distal end this is sealed. Liquid potting compound is injected into the anchor cavity and allowed to solidify. During the solidification process, a controlled translation (pulling) of the cable is preferably introduced.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for attaching a ferrule to a dragline rope. The method comprises locating the dragline rope in a die of a die-press, locating over the dragline rope a ferrule that is lined internally with a deformable material, and forcing the ferrule longitudinally through the die. The ferrule is caused to be internally expanded and be extruded back over the dragline rope, causing the lining to deform directly against the dragline rope and fastening the ferrule to the dragline rope.

    摘要: A cable for structures, especially suspension bridges, has a plurality of bundled tension elements spacedly surrounded by a tubular sheath, the space between tension elements and sheath being filled with a material, preferably injected mortar. To reduce the cost of producing, transporting and assembling such a cable, the tubular sheath is formed at the worksite from at least one sheet-steel strip in a shaping and seaming station and progressed along already tensioned tension elements, then sealed against anchorings for the cable, and filled with the mortar under pressure.
