Abstract: A method for manufacturing an engineered stone, the method including: providing a mixture comprising at least a stone or stone like material and a binder; compacting the mixture; curing the binder; and further comprising printing a printed pattern on at least a top surface of the engineered stone.

Abstract: Portland cement clinker LCMs that include Portland cement clinker to mitigate or prevent lost circulation in a well are provided. A Portland cement clinker LCM may include Portland cement clinker, Portland cement, a carrier fluid, and an inorganic consolidation activator. Another Portland cement clinker LCM may include Portland cement clinker and a crosslinked fluid, such as a polyuronide crosslinked via calcium ions or a polysaccharide crosslinked via divinyl sulfone. Yet another Portland cement clinker LCM may include Portland cement clinker and polymer fibers or particulate glass. Methods of lost circulation control using a Portland cement clinker LCM are also provided.

Abstract: Oil sands drill cuttings waste represents one of the most difficult challenges for the oil sands mining sector. Reducing the amount oil sands drill cutting waste sent to landfill offers one of the best solutions for waste management. The present disclosure provides cementitious formulations comprised of treated oil sand waste for use in geotechnical applications. The cementitious formulations include but are not limited to grouts, cement and controlled low strength materials (CLSM) and in these formulations the treated oil sand waste (TOSW) is used to replace conventional constituents such as some of the fly ash in concrete, some of the cement in grout formulations and some of the fly ash and cement in the controlled low strength materials. The treated oil sand waste is predominantly silicon dioxide (SiO2) which is produced using a process and system which separates water and oil from the solid waste, known as the thermos-mechanical cuttings cleaner (TCC).

Abstract: A new process for creating a decorative surface on a east concrete tile. A mold is prepared by coating with mold release. An aggregate of water, coloring dye, sand, Portland cement, and preferably filler material such as pea gravel is pre-mixed. Baking soda is mixed with a significant volume of water to create a high-viscosity paste. The paste preferably has a high solid to liquid ratio so that it can be crumbled into baking soda clumps of various sizes. The dampened baking soda clumps are sprinkled randomly onto the bottom surface of the mold (which will bear against what becomes the top surface of the east tile). The pre-mixed aggregate is then added to the mold. Once the aggregate is cured, the cast concrete tile is removed. The baking soda clumps create complex voids in the tile's upper surface, producing a surface texture similar to limestone.

Abstract: Crumb Rubber augmented masonry blocks including cement, aggregate, water, and crumb rubber. Crumb rubber is extracted from scrape tires after being processed and then mixed in specified percentages with aggregate, cement and water. In the present disclosure sand, which is used in the formation of conventional blocks, is replaced with crumb rubber to produce a sand-free masonry block containing crumb rubber. The developed crumb rubber masonry blocks satisfied the ASTM non-load bearing requirements in addition to satisfying the water absorption test.

Abstract: The invention relates to a resin mixture having a modified epoxy (meth)acrylate resin as the base resin, and optionally at least one reactive diluent, at least one stabilizer, and at least one accelerator, wherein the modified epoxy (meth)acrylate resin can be obtained by reacting organic compounds having epoxide groups with (meth)acrylic acid, and then by the partial esterification of the β-hydroxyl-groups, the same formed during the reaction, with the anhydride of a saturated dicarboxylic acid, to reactive resin mortars containing the same, and to the use thereof for the purpose of chemical fastening, by means of which it is possible to manufacture products which are not subject to labeling requirements and which additionally provide high bond strength.

Abstract: The present invention relates to lightweight fine ceramic particulates, directly obtained from fly ash, their use in different technical fields and building material compositions comprising the same.Lightweight fine ceramic particulates, especially sintered synthetic sand, as disclosed herein are characterized in that the grading of the particulates is as follows: Sieve size (mm) 210.50.25 Passing (mass-%)>9855 to 8030 to 452 to 4 Disclosed is further the use of lightweight fine ceramic particulates according to the invention as aggregate for construction purposes, especially in combination with fly ash.Lightweight fine ceramic particulates according to the invention are further used as additive in paint or coating formulations, as foundry sand, additive for waste water treatment, substrate for horticultural purposes, for hydroponic gardening, for green roofing purposes or for applications in geotechnics.Disclosed are also building material compositions in form of mortar or concrete, comprising the lightweight fine ceramic particulates according to the invention.The lightweight fine ceramic particulates according to the invention, and especially the building material compositions derived from them, are advantageous in respect to superior quality and workability, sound insulation and sustainability from internal curing.
