    摘要: An engine starter includes a recoil device, and a recoil cover for accommodating the recoil device therein also covers a flywheel operatively rotated with the recoil device, ring gears integrally fixed to the flywheel, and pinions which are components of a starter device and engage with the ring gears when the starter device is operated. The recoil cover is provided with a drain mechanism, including a boss formed integrally with the recoil cover, a drain pipe projected on the boss, and a drain cap plugged to the drain pipe and made of rubber so that it is manually detachable therefrom without using a tool. Thus a liquid such as muddy water which has entered from the recoil cover can be removed simply by pulling out the drain cap.

    摘要: A recoil starter has a starter case provided around a starter shaft. A one-way clutch mechanism is formed between one end of the starter shaft and an engine. A reel is mounted rotatably on the starter shaft and a rope is wound in a groove of the reel. A first spiral spring has its ends fixed respectively to the starter case and reel and urges the reel in the direction in which the rope is taken up. A second spiral spring has its ends fixed respectively to the reel and transmits a rotational force of the reel to the starter shaft when the rope is drawn out. The peak load at the engine starting time is absorbed in the second spiral spring.

    摘要: A switching-type intake pipe for internal combustion engines comprises an intake duct with a shorting aperture. The shorting aperture can be closed and opened by a switching flap. The switching flap is connected via a non-rigid connection with a flap lever. The connection between the flap lever and the switching flap is formed by a plate on the one side and a calotte on the other side. Thus, a tiltable connection, which is easy to manufacture and install, is produced between the switching flap and the flap lever.

    摘要: Conventional leaf blowers that are carried on the back of the operator have a starting device placed outside an engine and an fan which means that there position will be far from the back of the operator. This position of the starting device makes it difficult for the operator to reach it and results in that the center of gravity for the tool will be far from the back of the operator. The position also means that the operator must take the tool down from the back to be able to start the tool. In this application is a new arrangement that solves the above-described problem claimed. This is done by placing the starting device (20) for the engine (11) on the side of the fan that is facing towards the back of the operator when the leaf blower is in its right position on the back of the operator. This moves the center of gravity closer to the back of the operator and makes it possible for the operator to reach the starting device without removing the tool from the back.

The starters have a reel rotatably mounted in a case, a starting rope wound on the reel, a rotor rotatably mounted in the case, a spring for storing energy with rotation of the rotor in a predetermined direction, an engaging mechanism for engaging the reel with the rotor with pullout of the starting rope to transmit a torque of the reel to the rotor to store energy in the spring, and an engagement release mechanism for releasing the engagement between the reel and the rotor at the start of rewinding of the starting rope onto the reel to rotate the rotor by a restoring force of the spring. This arrangement permits the internal combustion engine to be started readily and securely.

    摘要: An engine starting device includes a roller selectively engageable between the crankshaft of an engine and an arbor. The roller causes the arbor to rotate in a loading direction in response to rotation of the crankshaft. Rotation of the arbor loads an elastic member. A locking mechanism, such as a ratchet wheel and pawl may be used to keep the elastic member loaded until it is desired to startup the engine. Engine startup is initiated by disengaging the pawl from the ratchet wheel and permitting the elastic member to unload. A pinion gear is mounted on a helically threaded portion of the arbor and moves axially along the helically threaded portion in response to unloading of the elastic member. The pinion gear engages teeth on the flywheel and causes the flywheel to rotate in a starting direction under the influence of the unloading elastic member.

The unidirectional rotating means is constructed in such a manner that, when the rope reel is rotated in the driving direction, the movable locking claw member is caused to contact and engage with the engaging member to thereby enable the rotation of the rope reel to be transmitted to the interlocking rotor, and that, when the rope reel is rotated reversibly to the driving direction relative to the interlocking rotor, the engagement between the movable locking claw member and the engaging member is released.

    摘要: A recoil starter wherein unidirectional rotating means is enabled to sustain a larger magnitude of torque, obviating the employment of parts which are high in mechanical strength, in rigidity and in working precision, thus making it possible to reduce the weight and the manufacturing cost thereof. The recoil starter includes a driving member, a driven member, and buffering/power-accumulating means interposed between the driving member and the driven member. The buffering/power-accumulating means is enabled, during the driving process, to accumulate the power supplied through the driving process while alleviating impact to the driven member. The accumulated power is subsequently employed to drive the driven member. The recoil starter includes a spiral spring mechanism having a housing adjacent to the driving member, an actuating pulley adjacent to the driven member, a buffering/power-accumulating member interposed between the housing and the actuating pulley, and unidirectional rotating means for permitting rotation of the housing unidirectionally in a driving direction, where the unidirectional rotating means is disposed on the outer peripheral side of the spring housing.
