    摘要: A venting and aerating arrangement for closed flow systems for water of fluctuating temperature is disclosed. A vent casing, defining an air collecting chamber, extends upwardly from a horizontal conduit of the system. A float controlled vent valve is arranged in the upper portion of the casing. A grid of spaced rods is arranged in the junction between casing and conduit and extends into the flow passage of the conduit to break up bubbles of air and other gases with the liberated gas ascending into the air collecting chamber. An improved valve construction is also disclosed. The valve has an exteriorly threaded valve body with an axially extending flow passage. A first axial extension on the valve body has a smaller diameter than the valve body proper. The valve body has a plane end surface forming a valve seat surrounding the flow passage. An exteriorly threaded cylindrical closure body of the same diameter as the valve body and having a second axial extension of smaller diameter is included in the valve. A spring engages the threads of the valve body and closure body to urge the end surface of the closure body against the valve seat. The closure body is adjustable relative to the valve body for adjusting spring tension and valve operational limits.

    摘要: Vent valve assembly for hot water boiler of type used in aircraft galleys permits trapped air in the boiler to escape during the initial fill. The valve includes a floating ball which rises as the boiler is filled so as to seat against an o-ring for sealing the boiler under pressure. A flow diverting plate positioned under the ball permits escaping air to rise rapidly around the ball without causing the ball to lift and be prematurely sealed against the o-ring. The plate also prevents the ball from blocking the air which must enter the boiler when it is drained.

    摘要: A vent system includes a spring-loaded closed vent valve mounted in the upper portion of the truck tank and a spring-loaded closed safety valve mounted in the bottom of the tank. The safety valve has a discharge portion carrying an actuator pin which disengagably abuts the underside of the safety valve member and is actuated to lift the valve member to permit flow of gasoline from or into the tank. The vent valve member is operatively connected to the safety valve member by an actuating rod so that the vent valve is opened or closed when the safety valve is opened or closed. The safety valve, actuating rod and vent valve are provided with an overboard vent passage which extends from an inlet in the safety valve member to an outlet in the vent valve member. When the actuator pin is actuated to open the safety valve, the inner end of the pin covers the vent passage inlet and vapors are vented from the tank through the vent valve in a normal manner. When the safety valve is closed, a small spring carried on the actuator pin urges the inner end of the actuator pin away from the safety valve member, thereby opening the vent passage so that the discharge portion of the safety valve is vented overboard. This eliminates the vacuum effect normally created in a discharge conduit connected to the safety valve, permitting it to be gravity drained after the safety valve has been closed.
