摘要: The present invention relates to fluid bed processors used in various industries for drying, coating, agglomerating, and performing other specific processes on particle materials. The processor is especially useful for processing particles, utilizing a hydro dynamically active layer (HDAL) produced by introducing a high speed gas jet through said particulate material under controlled conditions. The processor is adapted to be implemented in a plurality of different fluid bed applications and results in much more efficient particle processing, and a significant savings in energy consumption. The present invention also relates to a method comprising the steps of introducing particulate material into the processing chamber and passing a high-speed jet gas through a plurality of nozzles located in the base of said processing chamber, thereby producing distinct regions of low pressure so as to create an intense, substantially circulatory pattern of gas circulation into which said particulate material is picked up.

摘要: A jet spouted fluidised bed drier is described in which the bottom half of the drier chamber comprises a first lower conical part, and the top half of the drier chamber comprises a second upper conical part surrounding a conical grid located near to the top end of the second part. The drier chamber thus comprises two conical parts connected together at their wide ends. The result of this arrangement is that the collision zone becomes a toroid with an essentially triangular cross-sectional shape defined essentially by the conical internal surface of the top part and the conical outer surface of the conical grid. This revised structural arrangement has been found to be able to process materials which either cannot be processed, or cannot be processed efficiently, with known jet spouted fluidised bed driers. Additionally, this revised structural arrangement has been found to be able to process materials more efficiently, and to a lower desired final liquid content values.

摘要: A spout-fluid bed drying system and process is comprised of a spout-fluid bed dryer having a conical shaped lower section provided with a packing of heat exchange particles. A cyclone separator is connected to the top of the dryer with separated particles collected by a receiver connected to the leg of the cyclone. A vapor fan compresses the air-vapor mixture before it goes to the heat recuperator and mixing chamber. A tube-shell type heat exchanger, wherein effluent gases from the vapor fan are preheated with heat exchange with the outcoming high temperature gases. A combustion and incineration chamber wherein a natural gas burner is installed at the top and the high temperature flame is used to incinerate the effluent gases introduced from the annulus channel of the chamber to have the odors and VOCs destroyed. A mixing chamber wherein high temperature stream from the incineration chamber is mixed with low temperature stream from the vapor fan to serve as the drying media with the temperature maintained at around 400.degree. C. A slurry discharge nozzle is disposed below the packing and connected to a slurry container via piping and a slurry pump for releasing slurry to the surface of the particles within the packing. Evaporation of water occurs mostly on the surface of particles by contact with hot drying media. A gas-air mixture is fed to the burner through a feed pipe line wherein fresh air is supplied from an air blower.

摘要: This specification discloses a carboniser for coal compacts comprising a treatment channel containing a bed of particulate carrier which is fluidized intermittently or continuously by means of fluid distributor pipes arranged near the bottom of the channel. The channel has a feed section, a treatment section and a discharge section and is connected with a reheater for the carrier. The carrier is transferred between the channel and the reheater by means of downcomers and carrier lifters, the introduction of carrier being near the bottom of the channel and its removal being near the top of the bed so that the carrier passes upwardly through the channel in a direction which is transverse to the direction of transport of the compacts and carrier. When the compacts and some carrier are discharged from the treatment channel, the carrier is separated from the compacts and returned to the feed section. The specification also describes a special feed section arrangement which reduces emission of pollutants at the point of introduction of the compacts to the treatment channel.

摘要: Tendrillar carbonaceous material is used as a fluidization aid for fluidized beds. The tendrillar carbonaceous material can be used to fluidized cohesive solids. Further, it can be used to improve fluidization of particulate solids by reducing entrainment, eliminating bubbling, and/or eliminating channelling. The tendrillar carbonaceous material can be a fibrous, particulate carbonaceous material comprising carbon fibers and a ferrous group metal component dispersed throughout the carbon fibers as nodules. The tendrillar carbonaceous material has a bulk density of from about 0.01 to about 0.7 g/cm.sup.3 and comprises an agglomeration of tendrils having a diameter of from about 0.01 to about 1 micron and a length to diameter ratio of from about 5:1 to about 1000:1.
