A temperature program having a linear part and a periodically varying part superimposed thereon is applied to a sample in a thermogravimetric analyzer. The resulting mass signal is deconvoluted, or separated, into one or more deconvoluted signals.

    摘要: The operating elements of a portable, top-loading inclination balance are mostly mounted in a housing from which a pan carrier and the weighing pan project. The weight of an object on the pan is projected on a screen visible from outside the housing. A cover pivoted to the housing may be swung wide for access to the weighing pan, swung closer to the housing into an intermediate position for protecting the pan against the influence of air movement, or swung into a closed position in which it envelops the pan carrier and pan. The light source of the projecting system is energized only in the intermediate cover position, and the balance beam and pan carrier assembly are lifted from associated knife edge bearings and clamped against the housing or against the cover in response to movement of the cover into the closed position in which it is locked by a manually releasable latch. The weighing range of the balance is expanded by substitution weights which may be suspended either from the pan carrier or from pins on the housing immediately adjacent the projection screen and carry marks indicative of their weight.

    摘要: A laboratory balance as particularly disclosed herein has a balance beam which is supported for rotational movement on the frame of the balance by means of a central pivot which has high torsional rigidity transverse to the pivot axis and preferably is either a knife and vee bearing or a crossed spring or flexure pivot. One end of the beam is arranged so that beam deflection due to a weight placed on a balance pan associated with the other end of the beam can be measured. The balance pan is carried by a generally vertical member or truss which is suspended from the other end of the balance beam on a second pivot which also has high torsional rigidity transverse to the pivot axis and is preferably a knife and vee pivot or a flexure pivot. The balance beam and the truss together with the frame of the balance and a generally horizontal member or steering link which is pivotally connected at opposite ends to the frame and the truss make up a parallelogrammatic linkage by way of the four pivots. At least one of the pivots associated with the generally horizontal steering link is constituted by an elastic torsion member which is held between two arms of the truss or frame of the balance, the steering link being clamped to the torsion member between said arms. The purpose of the torsion member is that, being of a light construction relative to the two pivots associated with the beam of balance, it has lower torsional ridigity transverse to its pivoting axis than the pivots connected to the beam. Thus, to a significant degree, it constitutes a self-aligning facility and permits the steering link to lie in or move into different vertical planes from the vertical plane in which the balance beam moves without detriment to the performance of the balance.

    摘要: A four-pan algebra balance includes an imbalance correction mechanism for maintaining a balance beam in a horizontal equilibrium position unless the imbalance between the two sides of the device exceeds a predetermined amount. The balance includes a base, an upright stand mounted to, and extending substantially vertically from the base, a crossbar mounted to an upper end of the stand so as to extend substantially horizontally and the balance beam pivotally coupled to a midpoint of the stand. A first weight receptacle subassembly including two pans is coupled to a first end of the crossbar and a first end of the balance beam and a second weight receptacle subassembly including two pans is coupled to a second end of the crossbar and a second end of the balance beam. A visual indicator provides an indication of the relative equality of the first and second weight receptacle subassemblies. Various embodiments for the imbalance correction mechanism are disclosed, including an elastic strip, band, or spring coupled between the balance beam and the stand and a bolt coupled to the balance beam and adapted to receive a nut.

    摘要: The microbalance includes a mounting having two vertically aligned elongated flexible metal tension members, the upper and lower ends of the tension members being attached to a fixed support. The attachment of one end of each of the tension members to the fixed support is carried out by a resilient tension means. A pivot crossbeam is fixedly attached to the balance beam, and the ends of the pivot beam are fixedly attached respectively to the tension members at points intermediate to the ends. Deflection of the microbalance beam is accommodated by flexure of the metal tension members.

    摘要: The invention relates to a measuring device for measuring the mass of a weight, comprising a main frame, a main beam supported on the main frame and comprising a central knife and two side knives parallel with the central knife; a balancing system loaded on one end of the main beam and comprising a set of counterweights; a weighting system loaded on the other end of the main beam; a weight transportation system capable of transporting and loading a standard weight or a test weight into the weighting system and capable of unloading and transporting them away from the weighting system; and a control system. The central knife and the two side knives are made from metal with a high temperature-cryogenic cycling process. The central knife and the two side knives are configured to be adjusted in parallelism with a three-coordinates measuring machine. The control system is adapted to control the balancing system and the weighting system to synchronously load or unload the balancing system and the weighting system.
