    摘要: A hygrometer and dew-point instrument is provided that is structurally simple while reducing the workload during maintenance. The hygrometer measures relative humidity of a measurement space, and has a main body that encapsulates a working fluid therein and causes a heat-pipe phenomenon. The main body is disposed across the measurement space and an external space spaced from the measurement space by a heat-insulating part and has a temperature lower than the measurement space. A first temperature deriving part derives the temperature of the main body in a section where the working fluid evaporates. A space temperature detecting unit detects the temperature of the measurement space. A computation unit calculate relative humidity of the measurement space based on the temperature of the main body derived by the first temperature deriving part and the temperature of the measurement space detected by the space temperature detecting unit.

In one exemplary embodiment, a cloud point monitoring system receives diesel fuel in the tubular conduit and propagates light through the diesel fuel. The cloud point monitoring system further determines a cloud point temperature value indicative of a cloud point of the diesel fuel based on a light intensity level of the light that has propagated through cooled diesel fuel.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for determining the saturation temperature of a solution containing a dissolved substance, the crystals of which are optically anisotropic. The solution is placed in an optical measurement vessel under conditions wherein crystals of said substance are present, and the temperature of said crystal containing solution is gradually increased to at least the temperature at which all of the crystals dissolve. The temperature of the solution is continuously measured. Simultaneously with the temperature increase, a beam of linearly polarized light is directed into the optical measurement vessel in a manner such that it is transmitted through said solution; the transmitted beam of light, after having passed through the solution, is directed through a light polarizing analyzer having a direction of polarization normal to that of said beam of light; and at least a portion of any light transmitted through said analyzer is directed to a light measuring photodetector. Any light passing through crystals while present in the solution is optically rotated such that it is transmitted through the analyzer to the measuring photodetector, and the intensity of the transmitted light reaching said photodetector decreases to a lower, substantially constant level when all of the crystals have dissolved. The saturation temperature is the temperature of the solution at the time the light measured by the photodetector reaches this lower, substantially constant level.

    摘要: A device for monitoring the amount of butane that can be safely added into a fuel gas before condensation occurs includes a dry-bulb thermocouple for measuring the temperature of the gas and a wet-bulb thermocouple for measuring the temperature of a wick soaked in the butane. For a continuous flowing process the difference in the two measured temperatures indicates the proportion of butane that can be added before saturation, and is used to regulate the flow rate of the butane. The wick is periodically flushed with butane, in order to prevent the heavy hydrocarbon components in the butane from accumulating.
