    Abstract: A multiport valve used for a water quality analyzer is provided with: a valve head having a plurality of ports for receiving pipings for connections therebetween, the ports being provided on an outer surface of the valve head, the valve head including a connection surface in which ends of flow paths communicating with the respective ports are arranged in the same plane, the valve head being made of a resin material having corrosion resistance against a chemical used in the water quality analyzer; a rotor having a flat surface provided with a groove for switching a connection state between the ends of the flow paths arranged on the connection surface, the flat surface being arranged so as to face the connection surface; and a drive mechanism configured to rotate the rotor.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a valve unit (100) for a chromatography apparatus, the valve unit comprising a fluid inlet (110) configured to receive an input fluid, a fluid outlet (120) configured to provide an output fluid, a first pair of fluid ports (131,132) configured to be coupled to a first column, a second pair (141,142) of fluid ports configured to be coupled to a second column, a coupling valve assembly (200) configured to direct fluid between a selection of the fluid inlet (110), the fluid outlet (120), the first pair of fluid ports (131,132) and the second pair of fluid ports (141,142) in response to one or more control signals, wherein the coupling valve assembly is configured to direct fluid using a selection of membrane valves coupled by fluid channels comprised in a body of the coupling valve assembly. The invention further relates to a chromatography apparatus comprising the valve unit and a membrane valve comprised in the valve unit.

    Abstract: An injection valve assembly with looping internal sample loop works to inject discrete fluid samples into analytical instrumentation. The assembly provides an internal sample loop that carries the fluid sample follows an outwardly looping path. This looping deposition enables internal sample loop to have a uniform cross section and a larger sample volume of fluid; thereby creating enhanced peak shape in chromatography readings. The assembly provides a stator defined by stator openings, and a rotor defined by rotor grooves. The rotor grooves are arranged to form a rotor circumference. A stator face engages the stator to maintain operational engagement between the stator and the rotor. Internal sample loop is defined by a generally looped shape and an inner tube diameter. Internal sample loop follows a path at least partially outside the rotor circumference; whereby more than half of the length of internal sample loop is outside the rotor circumference.

    Abstract: A switching valve includes: (A) a rotor including: (1) a center pipe connection port, (2) a first in-valve flow path in communication with the center pipe connection port, and (3) an arc-like second in-valve flow path; (B) a stator including: (4) a first pipe connection port group which is brought into communication independently with the center pipe connection port via the first in-valve flow path when the rotor is turned, and (5) a second pipe connection port group which is brought into mutual communication via the second in-valve flow path when the rotor is turned; and (C) an arrangement of the rotor and the stator satisfying the following relationship: the state of communication or non-communication among the second pipe connection port group via the second in-valve flow path is switched in accordance with the state of communication between the first pipe connection port group and the center pipe connection port.
