摘要: A circuit for sensing local operating properties of an integrated circuit is disclosed. The circuit may include one or more sensor circuits configured to sense the local operating properties of the integrated circuit. The sensor circuits may receive a supply voltage with a magnitude in a limited range from a digital power supply that is different from the digital power supply that provides power to functional circuits in the integrated circuit. Level shifters may be coupled to the sensor circuits to shift output signals from the sensor circuits to levels that correspond to the digital power supply that provides power to functional circuits in the integrated circuit. Counters and a shift register may be coupled to the level shifters to receive the shifted output signals, the values of which may be used to determine the local operating properties of the integrated circuit as sensed by the sensor circuits.

摘要: An analog signal measuring device for measuring an analog signal includes a digital controller, a waveform converter and a comparator. The digital controller includes a PWM controller for outputting a pulse signal having an adjustable pulse width to the waveform converter, which converts the pulse signal into a sawtooth wave or a triangle wave for output as a carrier signal. Next, the comparator feeds a comparison pulse signal, which is obtained by comparing the carrier signal to the analog signal, to the digital controller, which enables or disables the counter to generate a count value corresponding to the comparison pulse signal. Since the count value depends on the comparison pulse signal and the type of the comparison pulse signal is directly related to the analog signal, the digital controller may get the analog signal according to the count value.

摘要: An equivalent time pseudorandom sampling system samples a repetitive waveform within each of several narrow acquisition windows bounding repetitive sections of the waveform in order to obtain equivalent time sample data characterizing the shape of the waveform included within the acquisition windows. The period between successive triggering events is measured and sampling is delayed following an initiating triggering event by delay time adjusted according to the measured period so as to maximize the probability that sampling will occur within an acquisition window. The time difference between samples and subsequent triggering event is measured with high accuracy and resolution utilizing a time interval measurement system based on a dual vernier interpolation.

摘要: A precision current meter of wide dynamic range and sensitivity to low currents is disclosed. The precision current meter is particularly useful as a component for spectrochemical computations in spectrometers for the simultaneous multielement analysis of unknown samples in solution. The precision current meter comprises a source of input current, preferably a photomultiplier tube, an integrator having an integrating capacity for detecting the input current from the source, a source of reference currents including an offset current, a switch with a drain current coupled to the integrator. A clock is provided for generating clock signals for the current meter, including a series of pulses to actuate the switch and thereby to admit drain current segments to the integrator. A first counter is coupled to the output of the integrator to count the number of the series of actuating pulses during a predetermined time interval, and a second counter coupled to both the integrator output and the clock fixes the predetermined time interval. Preferably, both the integrator output and the switch are coupled via optical couplers to the counters.

摘要: An analog-to-digital converter for an electromagnetic flowmeter in which the fluid being metered passes through a flow tube to intersect a magnetic field, the voltage induced in the fluid being transferred to a pair of electrodes. The magnetic field is established by an electromagnet supplied with excitation current that is alternately turned "on" and "off" at a low frequency rate. The resultant flow-induced electrode signal is sampled for a predetermined interval in each "on" and "off" field state, successive differences therebetween serving to develop an analog signal representing the flow rate. Conversion is effected by integrating each sample to produce a sloped voltage whose polarity corresponds to that of the sample and whose peak level relative to a base level is determined by the amplitude of the sample, the sloped voltage being then de-integrated back to base level in a time slot whose duration is directly proportional to the average level of the sample. A burst of pulses is extracted from a stable high-frequency oscillator during this time slot, the pulse count of the burst being determined by the duration of the slot, thereby converting each sample to a digital value.

摘要: Method and apparatus for measuring the magnitude of a varying analog signal and for displaying a close approximation of a final stabilized value before the signal reaches stabilization. An analog-to-digital converter converts the analog signal to corresponding digital pulse signals and the digital pulse signals are displayed to an operator. Automatic display-hold circuitry determines the pulse count difference between successive pulse count signals separated by a predetermined time interval, compares the difference to predetermined value, and, when the predetermined value is reached, generates a control signal which locks the displayed value and prevents the display from updating as the analog signal continues to vary. The difference between pulse signals is taken by storing the first signal in an up/down counter and decrementing the counter in response to the second signal. The circuitry determines the pulse count difference and the sign of the difference between the two signals by counting either (1) the number of remaining pulses in the second signal after the counter decrements to zero or (2) the number of additional pulses required to decrement the counter to zero after termination of the second signal.

摘要: Output circuitry for a digital instrument includes a counter providing a binary coded digital number which represents a measured value of an electrical parameter and which is periodically updated. The binary coded number in the counter is transferred to an output store in response to periodic transfer pulses. Control means are provided to reduce flicker in a digital display driven from the store by preventing the transfer of the least significant digit of the digital number from the counter to the store in response to a transfer pulse if such digit represents a transition between oddness and evenness when compared with the corresponding digit of the number at the time of the immediately preceding transfer pulse. In a preferred embodiment, the control means is also operative to prevent the transfer of the entire digital number to the store in response to a transfer pulse if the least significant digit is ''''ZERO'''' or ''''NINE'''' and the transfer of the least significant digit is prevented.
