摘要： Automatic eject apparatus for use in a cassette tape player includes a pivotal, spring biased lever arm movable to an ejectready position upon operation of a manual actuator arm from a first to a second position for the purpose of moving a cassette into the play position in the tape player. The armature of a solenoid coupled to a latch arm engageable with the lever arm upon moving the latter to the eject-ready position, is magnetically held by a holding coil to maintain the lever arm in the eject-ready position. Removal of power from the holding coil unlatches the lever arm which in turn engages the actuator arm to move the cassette out of the play position. An overcenter spring connected to the latch arm aids in moving the solenoid armature into engagement with the holding coil and returning the armature and latch arm to their initial positions upon de-energization of the holding coil. A second, spring biased pivotal lever arm movable also from an unlatched to a latched position, ejects the cassette from the player upon removal of power from the latter.

摘要： A recording media having orientation means for defining a recording surface. The recording media is a flat circular disc rotatable about a central opening. The orientation means is adjacent the central opening and is made up of at least one opening. When only one opening is used, it must in general be asymmetrical with respect to any radius extending from the central opening. The central opening in the disc cooperates with a spindle on a recording apparatus turntable. Adjacent the spindle on the turntable is a cooperating orientation member which enters the orientation opening(s) only when the disc is properly positioned in the recording apparatus.

Advantageously, both long arms possess such indicators, which may even be of different types. In a particularly advantageous spring shape, one long spring arm has an edge possessing incisions and the other long spring arm has an edge possessing projections, as a result of which the springs can be arranged for punching in such a way that waste is avoided.

摘要： In the recording and/or reproducing device according to the present invention, a disc unit (i.e., recording member) is utilized which comprises upper and lower spaced centrally apertured recording portions. Each recording portion is provided with an annular recording layer on its inner surface and an aperture at its center for rotatably mounting on a turntable. Upon rotating the turntable with the disc unit, the recording and reproducing device records information signals on, and reads information signals from, the recording layer on each recording portion by using a light beam. The light beam is positioned to strike only the recording layer on the lower recording portion. When the disc unit is turned on its other side, the previously positioned upper unit is then positioned as the lower unit to receive the light beam. The turntable comprises a perpendicularly orientated centering member which engages the aperture of a recording portion. The centering member centers the disc unit on the turntable. The centering member has a length such that it enters the aperture in the lower recording portion but does not protrude into the aperture in the upper recording portion.

摘要： A recording and reproducing system which uses a recording medium having a plurality of information recording tracks for recording image information. And at least one index recording track is located on the recording medium for recording index information. The index recording track is located substantially at the center of the recording medium and extends length wise of the recording medium in the direction of movement of this recording medium. Accordingly, the recording medium of the present invention eliminates the adverse effect of the drop-out and reduces the period of time required to search for the index information and reproduce image information.

摘要： A tape cartridge ejector system for a cassette type tape player is equipped with means to automatically eject the cassette cartridge from the player upon de-energization of a low power solenoid. The de-energization of the solenoid can take place by any means as through the ignition switch, on-off switch, ejection switch, or power failure. The ejector apparatus utilizes stored mechanical energy from one or more springs and therefore even operates upon complete power failure to cause the cassette cartridge to be ejected automatically from the tape player.
