    摘要: A printed circuit resistor pattern, designed to be trimmed by electro-erosion, has affixed to the side thereof a highly conductive strip. The current path passes through a portion of the resistor pattern and through the conductive strip; as the resistor is trimmed, a gap is created along the edge of the conductive strip causing the current path to pass through a greater length of resistive material and a lesser length of the conductive strip, thereby causing the overall resistance to current flow to be increased.

    摘要: A variable resistor unit particularly useful in selectively controlling current in a circuit of low or medium voltage, a preferred form of the invention includes a smooth bore resistance coil having a helical wire contact element convolutely arranged in the bore of the resistance coil structure of the device. A ring of metallic mercury fluid is concentrically arranged in the bore of the resistance coil and defines adjustable contact means engaging the contact areas of the helical coil element. Selective axial manipulation of the mercury ring in the bore of the resistance coil operatively increases or decreases the resistance in the circuit of the resistor device.

    摘要: A dual potentiometer is operable by manipulation of a single shaft; two stationary resistive elements presenting annular tracks are axially spaced adjacent the shaft, and a contact hub is fixed on the shaft between the resistive elements with a pair of brushes for slidably contacting the elements; the shaft may be reciprocated to place a brush in contact with either of the elements, or to open circuit both potentiometers, and the shaft may be rotated to adjust the potentiometers; each of two indicator discs on the shaft is marked with appropriate calibrations for one of the potentiometers, and each is viewed through a lens having a focal length such that the disc is in focus when viewed through the lens when the shaft is in operating position for the potentiometer to which it relates.

    摘要: Electronic components are constructed from a solid spherical core of electrically nonconducting material such as a stabilized crosslinked copolymer plastic. The spherical core is coated with a plurality of concentric electrically functional layers to provide a variety of electronic components such as resistors and capacitors having pressure sensitive electrical characteristics. More complex electronic components such as transistors, thermistors, rectifiers and thermocouples may be provided depending upon the configuration and composition of concentric layers on the spherical core. A plurality of spheres may be combined in a pressure chamber to provide a variety of transducers and detectors such as a pressure transducer, photosensitive detector, infrared detector or memory cell bank.
