    摘要: An active/passive fuse module including a fuse having an electrically insulating fuse body, first and second endcaps disposed on opposing ends of the fuse body, a fusible element extending through the fuse body between the first endcap and the second endcap, and an arc quenching material disposed within the fuse body and surrounding the fusible element. The fuse module further includes a pyrotechnic interrupter (PI) coupled to the fuse body, the PI having a housing defining a shaft, a piston disposed within the shaft, a drive pin extending from the piston into the fuse body, the drive pin terminating in a cutter disposed adjacent the fusible element, and a pyrotechnic ignitor disposed within the shaft above the piston configured to detonate upon receiving an initiation signal from a controller, whereby the piston and the drive pin are forcibly driven through the shaft causing the cutter to separate the fusible element.

    摘要: An arc flash mitigation system includes a main circuit protector such as a high amperage overcurrent protection fuse, and an arc flash mitigation network connected in parallel to the main circuit protector. The arc flash mitigation network includes at least one semiconductor switch operable to provide a shunt current path to a low amperage arc mitigation fuse for a faster response time to certain circuit conditions than the main circuit protector otherwise provides. The semiconductor switch may be a silicon controller rectifier operatively responsive to a voltage drop across the main circuit protector in use.

    摘要: A surface-mount type micro fuse has a fusible element provided in a housing. The fusible element has a fusible body and two intermediary portions connected to both ends of the fusing portion. Two gaps are formed respectively between the fusible body and the intermediary portions. When the fusible element is blown out due to the transient abnormal current, the gaps between the intermediary portions cause a large distance instantaneously to prevent the arc. Then effectively ensure the safety of the use of the overall circuit.

    摘要: A switch (10), particularly a disconnecting switch (10) for high direct currents and alternating currents at high voltages, can be transferred from a conducting position into a disconnecting position. The switch (10) is includes a housing (12), a first contact (28), a second contact (30), a switching piston (24) guided by the housing (12) with a connecting element (22), which establishes an electrical connection in the connecting position between the first contact (28) and the second contact (30). The housing (12) defines an interior space surrounding the connecting element (22). The connecting element (22) extends at least partially in the interior space (18) and is filled with an insulating medium (20), and the switch is designed such that a mechanical movement of the switching piston (24) transfers the switch (10) from the connecting position into the disconnecting position. The switching piston (24) mechanically impacts the connecting element (22) such that the electrical connection between the first contact (28) and the second contact (30) is interrupted in at least one disconnecting location.
