    摘要： A voltage controlled oscillator for use in a phase locked loop is provided with a first varactor circuit that responds to a control signal to set the center frequency of the oscillator, and with a second varactor circuit comprising a modulation varactor that responds to a modulation signal to cause the oscillator to produce a modulated output. The modulation sensitivity of the oscillator is made relatively constant between upper and lower center frequencies by applying a portion of the modulation signal to the first varactor circuit in addition to the control signal.

    摘要： An improved reflection type phase modulator having reduced temperature sensitivity and reduced distortion includes two three-port circulators coupled to form a four-port circulator. A first port is connected to a first phase modulator and a second port is coupled by means of a quarter wavelength transmission line to a second phase modulator, the transmission line being resonant at an applied unmodulated carrier frequency. The first and second phase modulators are coupled to receive a modulation signal. A third port of the circulator is coupled to receive the applied unmodulated carrier frequency and the fourth port provides a signal at the unmodulated carrier frequency which is phase modulated in response to the modulation signal.
