    摘要: An FMCW signal generation circuit includes: an oscillator configured to oscillate in an oscillation frequency that is variable in accordance with a control signal being input thereto and output an FMCW signal having the oscillation frequency; a phase detector configured to detect a phase of the FMCW signal; a first differentiator configured to obtain a frequency by differentiating the phase detected by the phase detector; a second differentiator configured to obtain a frequency variation rate by differentiating the frequency obtained by the first differentiator; a subtractor configured to calculate an error between a set frequency variation rate that is set at a given value and the frequency variation rate obtained by the second differentiator; and an integrator configured to generate the control signal for controlling the oscillation frequency of the oscillator by integrating the error calculated by the subtractor.

    摘要: The present invention, generally speaking, provides an RF modulator that allows precise, stable phase shifts to be obtained. The modulator uses a PLL structure including an auxiliary feedforward path used to inject a baseband modulation signal into the PLL at a point past a loop filter of the PLL. A phase demodulator recovers phase information from the output signal of the PLL. The recovered phase information is compared to the phase information of the baseband modulation signal. A resulting error signal is used to control injection of the baseband modulation signal into the PLL, to automatically achieve the correct "dosage." A precise, adaptive, phase-stable modulator results. The adaptation of the modulator compensates for variability of the VCO and other components of the PLL.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for generating a modulated signal include a pulse modulation source (215), a pulse modulator (20) for modulating a pulsed signal, a high efficiency power amplifier (230) for amplifying the modulated pulsed signal, and a harmonic reduction filter (240) for passing the switching frequency of the pulsed signal as the RF carrier. The pulse modulation source (215) accepts baseband inphase and quadrature signals and determines phase values and duty ratios for modulating the pulsed signal. The pulse modulator (20) phase modulates and duty cycle modulates the pulsed signal before it is amplified and filtered. A quadrature demodulator (260) produces baseband inphase and quadrature feedback signals for increased linearity.

    摘要: The present invention overcomes the problems discussed above by providing a linearizer apparatus for providing a linear ramp modulation for a voltage control oscillator (VCO), including voltage controlled oscillator means (VCO) having input and output terminals, and means for producing the output signal at its output terminal at the output frequency such that the output frequency corresponds to the voltage of a modulated tuning signal applied to the input terminal. A signal division means is coupled to the output of the VCO for producing a divided signal. A glass bulk acoustic delay means is coupled to the signal division means for producing a delayed signal. A first comparison signal generator means is coupled to the divided signal and the delayed signal for producing an IF signal which is proportional to the VCO output signal non-linearities. A reference oscillator means is provided for producing a reference signal. A second comparison signal generator means is coupled to the reference signal and the IF signal for producing an error signal. Finally, a summing means is coupled to a modulation waveform generator means and the error signal for producing a modulated tuning signal which is input to the VCO to frequency modulate the VCO.

    摘要: A circuit and method for generating an output signal having an output frequency that varies linearly with time, and an FM CW radar system utilizing such a circuit. The circuit includes a VCO, a rate detector, a phase detector, a filter and an integrator. The VCO produces an output signal at its output terminal at an output frequency that corresponds to the voltage of a tuning signal applied to the VCO input terminal. The rate detector receives the output signal and produces a rate signal having a rate frequency that corresponds to the rate of change of the output frequency. The phase detector compares the rate signal to a reference signal having a fixed frequency, and produces a correction signal corresponding to the phase difference between the rate and reference signals. The filter filters the correction signal to produce a first current signal, and the integrator integrates the first current signal to produce the tuning signal. The circuit may also include a current source for producing a constant magnitude second current signal, in which case the integrator integrates the combined first and second current signals to produce the tuning signal.
